Dell employees can only use our 10% E&A on this one. Still takes off $73, though.

Terrible deal. Sorry, but the 60PN5700 (Smart, Wifi) is currently $699.99 at Micro Center. Fry's will run it that price for a few days every month as well.

Lost (most) people don't have access to a MC. Even if you do, if you're willing to flip the GC on eBay, this comes in significantly cheaper. It doesn't have some of the features, but I just don't know why most people care. A PS3 or even a decent Blu-Ray player offers so many more features and a better interface than all these "Smart" TVs. Give me a giant, dumb, gorgeous plasma with no features all day over an LED that checks all the boxes and costs twice as much with a worse picture.

except for the fact that this is not a gorgeous plasma...as far as plasma technology goes

that being said...the ONLY reason this would be a good is if Fry's or Micro center were not a drivable distance for you to pick up in store

as far as the gift card...a straight up discount from the selling price always beats a gift card (or a rebate) in every way

Gorgeous is relative and I agree with you, but you certainly aren't going to get a high end 60 inch Panny plasma for anything close to $600-$700.

If you want something large and your budget is in this range, I think you'd be hard pressed to do better than this.

With respect to the gift card/rebate argument, again you're correct, but Dell would never sell this straight up for $530, and neither would anyone else. Sometimes playing that game is the way to score the best possible price, albeit with some hassle.

Amazon reviews are what I would consider to be very good for this price range:

Reading is hard I suppose. Fry's will run this a few days a month at $699.99. It is currently $699.99 at Micro Center. A quick look at their stores and you'll see they reach ~65% of the US population. Not to mention getting BBY to PM Microcenter is easy if you have one within 60 miles. There are whole threads dedicated to it.

Guys, The 6500 had a better picture than the 5700. I checked both Fries and MC when they had them in stock. Also I saw the 6550 at Sams and wasn't sure how it compared to the 6500. If this one is the same or better than the 6500 - go for it. The 5700 is worse in terms of PQ - and I don't care about Wifi and Smart TV. I already have networking and an i3 - HTPC.

Same as 60PN6500 -

Nelson: Hello Harshan R. Welcome to LG Electronics U.S.A. Support only. How may I provide you with excellent service today?
Harshan R: Hello Harshan R: I saw a Plasma TV 60PN6550 at dell.com and samsclub.com Harshan R: But your only has 60pn6500 and NO - 60PN6550 model listed Harshan R: are they the same or Harshan R: is the 60PA6550 incorrectly listed as 60PN6550 at dell.com Nelson: I understand the situation, I’ll be glad to help you with this. May I ask from what country are you going to purchase that unit? Harshan R: U.S Harshan R: There is no Sams Club outside the U.S. Nelson: Thank you, they're exactly the same model but usually samsclub.com has different model numbers as these tv's are delivered only to them or in this case dell.com as well but about specifications and features they're the same. Harshan R: ok. Harshan R: thanks!! Harshan R: so they are the exact same model, right? Nelson: You’re very welcome, yes they're the same model, same specs, Once you hit the “End chat” button you will be redirected to a short survey, about my service, it is not really about the product quality but to rate the service and availability that you received from me, we would appreciate your input as your opinion is very important to us and helps us to improve and provide the best customer service possible, is there anything else I can help you with? Harshan R: That's it for now. Thanks!!

This site shows a input lag of 56ms... how will that affect console gaming for games like Halo and CoD? Will there be a significant difference when compared to the Vizio E601i-A3 that has a input lag of 31ms?
