This eBay Daily Deal listing is NOT for the Zenbook model that has been widely & positively reviewed. The model in this listing has not been professionally reviewed.

The model in this listing is the one with the low-quality, glossy 1600x900 TN panel screen that has low brightness (bad for usage in direct light, especially outdoors).

Also, there are large questions about this model being new or refurbished. Google has no listings for this exact model number listed new anywhere.

Even the seller's own website lists this model number as refurbished (and they don't have a link to this model new). Also, the BuyDig eBay feedback has many people complaining about receiving other Asus Zenbook UX31A refurbs when listed as new.

This post can be edited by most users to provide up-to-date information about developments of this thread based on user responses, and user findings. Feel free to add, change or remove information shown her

Deal appears to be Dead as price has increased to $650

I wanna say that this model is refurbished and not new. UX31A-R5102H does any one have a differing opinion to back up the listing?

Here is Buydigs web page [buydig.com]for reference and after some googleing I can't seem to find that model number as new...

The listing claims it is brand new/factory sealed.

the picture in this posting is not correct. It shows the zenbook with silver keyboard keys (which is the zenbooks with sandy bridge), however, this zenbook has black keyboard keys (characteristic of all ivy bridge zenbooks)

Not sure if keyboard is backlit (EDIT: yes it does have it according to the description).

Also has Windows 7 Home Premium...a good thing for those looking for that.

Having used my Windows 8 touchscreen machine for a while, I do prefer Windows 8 combined with Classic Shell (I hate metro). The ability to do factory restore / reset natively is great, and Windows 8 does boot much quicker and is extremely reliable.

Good specs at this price. I'd bite if it was Windows 8 touchscreen, and if the keyboard was backlit (yes it is).

Thumbed up the thread... seems like a great deal for those who need an ultrabook. I'm waiting for the Zenbook Infinity, but this is very tempting.

They have the same laptop on Rakuten for $599 as refurbished. The title on Rakuten says REFURBISHED in red. So they sell refurb for more than new?

What does Rakuten have to do with BuyDig?

BuyDig has a Rakuten marketplace listing. Both the Rakuten listing and their own website show the refurbished model for $599. Don't you think it's possible that they made a mistake on their ebay listing?

Reading over some of their feedbacks it's very possible... I was excited to see this deal but now I think is rather not take my chances.
