I wanna say that this model is refurbished and not new. UX31A-R5102H does any one have a differing opinion to back up the listing?

Here is Buydigs web page [buydig.com]for reference and after some googleing I can't seem to find that model number as new...

BuyDig has a Rakuten marketplace listing. Both the Rakuten listing and their own website show the refurbished model for $599. Don't you think it's possible that they made a mistake on their ebay listing?
Listing shows brand new and an eBay Daily Deal Smilie

Really love the specs. Wish the ram could be upgraded, but it is soldered. Decisions...

Which model is the one in this listing, exactly?

I cannot seem to find a 2012 model ux31a with 1600x900 res screen that's not touch + win8.

There are a lot of quirks in this listing, making me pretty uncertain about recommending a friend buy it for her last year of college.

Well, if this is indeed new as they claim then it's a pretty awesome deal. I picked up a refurb XPS13 for $600 + tax with a bit more ram so a new UX31A is at this price means buy buy buy.

It happens frequently that vendors will have cheaper pricing on an eBay Daily Deal than their web site. Whether it's Newegg, BuyDig or Adorama...

I wouldn't think that this is a refurb.... It's a reputable vendor and I'm sure they verified the listing before having it become an "eBay Daily Deal" where it will get so much exposure. If I was in the market for this myself I would hesitate on buying it due to being worried it's a refurb

folks, there is 30 day return policy. it is 1600x900 TN panel. the ux31a comes in this resolution in addition to 1080p (hence the "H" at the end of the model #, as opposed to the 1080p IPS version ending in "F".

The listing claims it is brand new/factory sealed.
lol thats an interesting way to attempt to prove that the listing is correct...by quoting the listing?

nah the deal in the op seems new to me. here is their listing for the same model in refurb link [ebay.com]
Yeah the more I search the more I think that the listing may actually be correct. For all I know they are clearing out all 3rd gens that aren't touch screen. Heck this even still has windows 7 on it. Thanx and repped

the ebay daily deal part is the only convincing part of that argument lol I would hope that they wouldn't screw up a daily deal but idk. Nice posting though!

Simply cannot find this part number listed as new anywhere, period. It's gotta be a refurb that's incorrectly listed.

It's not a refurb. this model # is indeed produced by ASUS, and a quick search can find it new on amazon for $999.

You're wrong. Show me a link, because I searched Amazon for the exact model number UX31A-R5102H and don't see a single listing aside from this refurb for $999:

There's another listing at $970 states its new. Point is, they do NOT make units with a specific model# that are instantly refurbed. these were at one point NEW with these specs, manufactured by ASUS.

Use your brain.

Are you guys sure its reburbrished? In the questions part, it says

What is the condition of this item?
buydig has listed this item as New.

I'm going to contact the seller and find out. If it's new, i'm buying.
