Starts Tuesday. Savings range from 25% to 99% off retail. This is the first time they have done this mystery bag so who knows what we'll get.

I have a feeling it will be a bunch of leftover items from Groupon Goods that they're trying to get rid of

Groupon (NASDAQ: GRPN) (http://www.groupon.com) today announced the Groupon Goods Midsummer Mystery Deal. Beginning Tuesday, July 30, buy a $15 deal and get a mystery item shipped for free to your door. Savings range from 25% to more than 99% off of retail prices and include 55-inch LED televisions, digital cameras and tablets.

The Groupon Goods Midsummer Mystery Deal is available for purchase at http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-g...er-mystery. More than 8,000 items will be available to purchase in the Groupon Goods Midsummer Mystery Deal. All of the items retail for more than the $15 purchase price and include everything from a 12-pack of popcorn to a high-end audio dock. Other items include vacuums, iPad cases, wall speakers, watches and laptop computers.

In addition to the mystery deal, Groupon is running a bonus sweepstakes: Visit Twitter and post the coolest thing you’ve ever won using the hashtag, #mysterygroupon. One lucky participant will win a Samsung 55-inch 1080p, 240Hz slim LED 3D TV.*

Still a better chance at winning something useful than playing the lotto. Also, this better be the best 12-pack of popcorn that I have ever eaten.

I think so too... perfectly fits the description of the mystery box..
and added, they intend to empty their garage of stuff which didn't quite sell on their website.

That was a great TED talk.
Agreed, it's one of my favorites. Really digs into our primal need to have mysteries in our lives and our love/hate of having those mysteries solved in unexpected ways. I can't wait to see how Breaking Bad and SoA wrap up their shows and see if they can avoid the fan disappointment that JJ's Lost did or the similar displeasure from Sopranos.

Edit: Also, since it's Groupons first shot at this, they have a lot to prove. I think we all agree that the BoCs went down FAST after the first one. Can Groupon surprise and delight us with this offer both this time around and in the long run? Hard to say. But I wouldn't expect them to get better than the first one quickly. So I'm IN for this one.

Yeah, since I don't want to buy their stuff about 364 days per year, I imagine there is a lot of left over crap to unload for $15 a customer.

Yeah, they probably send you stuff that normally not many people want. As for the 55-inch LED 3D TV , you don't have to buy the Mystery Bag to get in the sweepstakes. Just need a Twitter account.

This gets me thinking its like the carnival games you see when you visit the beach or something. Everything is freaking rigged so they can cash in on your $$$$$
