"P22 on the box, E02 inside."

For those who have received theirs, let us know which version you got using this poll:
http://slickdeals.net/f/6213934-Poll-How-many-got-E02-Pogoplug-s-from-the-last-Adorama-deal?v=1

Please check the bottom of the Pogoplug itself to determine if you received a E02 or P22 (new armv6/oxnas model!)

If you have the P22 and would like to hack it, you have the two options:

1) Install Debian - http://www.howtoforge.com/install...as-cleanly
- More info on Debian http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?...1#msg-6371
- Premade rootfs - http://pogoplug.cwsurf.de/forum/v...p?f=5&t=15
2) Add SAMBA (NAS) via Optware
-----------
Now $16.99 w/ FS directly at Adorama's site: http://www.adorama.com/COCPOGOP21...ailPrice=T

Chances are you'll get the E02 model. I haven't heard anyone getting the P21 model (when buying the P21) model in the last year. [Update] Sorry to the people who got the P22 Frown

Trouble enabling SSH?
This post [doozan.com] explains how UDP port 4365 from the WAN to the Pogoplug's IP address must be open and forwarded on your router.

I think P21 doesn't have ongoing upgrades for ArchLinux. Does that mean Sabnzbd, Sickbeard won't be able to be added to this?

Hot! Thanks OP.

Highly recommended purchase.

I have a few of these, but will probably pick up a few more at this price.

The P21 is the same thing as the E02.

I haven't heard anyone getting a P21 in a while. Check all the previous slickdeal threads for the last year or two.

I'm in for 5 (limit).

so tempted to buy another one just for Plex. it kills me that it does not have enough power for DLNA capabilities or transcoding

If plex on pogo doesn't have enough for DLNA and Transcoding is it just a media server that will download cover art? Do you just have the Client side play with hardware decoding? I am trying to see the benefit of Plex over XBMC on my LAN with a PogoPlug. Currently using XBMC with Pogoplug with Samba and sabnzbd.

So tempted to get another one but scared about getting a P21. These things are a pain to return or sell on ebay if the aren't E02 cause they are pretty decent size box and shipping would negate the cost.

Been looking and haven't seen a sale on these pogo for awhile! Decision.

can I connect a 2 TB external hard drive to this and have a UpnP server?

I get confused with Samba, UpnP, DLNA etc..

I need to access the hard drive through my home network from my Patriot Box office, Apple TV2 with XBMC..
the main purpose if media sharing for movies and photos...

What are my options?

Thanks in advance for the replies...

Theres no benefit. keep using xbmc and a 'dumb' NAS share. its the 'right' way (and has been for 10 years) IMO.

this is a $15 'toy' . dont think too hard just buy it.

there is so much you can do with these little boxes youll want one when you dont have it and have a need for a small embedded linux server.

yes, you could. not sure what the PBO supports, i suspect at the very least SMB shares, so you could also skip using uPNP and just run samba/ftp/whatever else on the pogoplug, and as you describe hook up external storage. HTH

Just convinced me. In for 2. I already have 2 E02 and a Dockstar. I find the Dockstar lacking in processing power compared to the E02 especially for Sabnzbd unrars.
