Only $259 now! nod

This made the FP back in July when it was $279, but it's now $20 less. This is the matte version, and it doesn't have much glare at all, unlike the glossy versions.

I purchased two of these last week from "dream-seller" to have have a dual QHD setup and they both arrived in 2 business days FedEx International Express from Korea. No dead pixels, perfect setup, boxes in great condition. They work amazingly well! I couldn't be happier.

This monitor has a Samsung PLS panel and is equivalent to the QNIX QX2710; s The links are for the matte version, but there is also a glossy version available for the same price. Note, this monitor only has input for Dual-Link DVI, so your desktop just needs a decent DVI port--even cheap $30 cards have this.

Here's a great review from TekSyndicate on this exact model:

I know there have been many of these postings lately, but for $259 (the lowest price ever) and the positive reviews--mine included--you can't beat this deal!

People are 50-50 on whether this is PLS or IPS but they are both great tech so it really does not matter what you get. I have read that PLS has less issues with light bleed.

Damn, I bought from him when it was $280...

And BTW; I got 825:1 contrast with this PLS monitor, color is fairly accurate pre-calibration already. Dell IPS monitor get's around 1100:1 contrast in comparison, but they need calibration.

I don't remember that, and when I posted my listing on July 4th, nothing came up in the search when I search PLS. The first time I recall seeing this front page was within a week of your listing.

PLS is a variation of IPS, from what I recall reading in a review by tftcentral

damn, bought at the last deal for $20 more.

Warning for what it's worth: a week after this purchase from Dream-Seller, my Paypal account was racked with 7 fraudulent charges from Korean people (I have only 3 other USA based charges this year within Paypal). Huge coincidence? You be the judge.

This and the Qniz are basically the same monitor, and both have the capability to overclock. However, whether or not you can actually overclock it to 120hz is just luck of the draw. Here is more info on it.

Can I get assurances that PLS is at the minimum as good as IPS? I absolutely need text sharpness and the last thing I need is to have a monitor in between a TN and IPS quality. For reference, a TN monitor has somewhat blurry texts.

PLS is as good as eIPS. Theyre basically the same thing. IPS is premium and better than both

PLS is slightly better than IPS.

Samsung Electronics in 2010 introduced technology named Super PLS (Plane-to-Line Switching) with the intent of superseding conventional IPS. It seems that Samsung adopted PLS panels instead of AMOLED panels, because in the past AMOLED panels had difficulties in realizing full HD resolution on mobile devices. PLS technology was Samsung’s wide-viewing angle LCD technology, and it is known as a similar technology to LG’s IPS technology.
Samsung makes PLS
LG makes IPS

Both about the same from what I have read.

For someone who already has a 1440p monitor but wants one just to get 120hz would you recommend getting one of these? or too risky?

thanks

This is the stuff that makes me cringe. That isn't terribly difficult, just a royal pain. It is basically gambling. Dead pixels, bad units, then having to deal with unknown sellers halfway around the world. Still, I'm tempted because I'm on my old Acer P244w, which is decent, but not nearly that resolution and I'd like to keep upgrading.

I just finished putting my new i5-4670k together and it boots.....I'm so tempted. Still need a GPU, too! Or I could just put my two 6850s from my old pc in and see how it goes.

Decisions!

Stuff like the video below always concerns me

That yellow line often is due to cable not seated properly
