Newegg denied rebate: "Invalid UPC submitted"

donldmn 2,459 547 August 19, 2013 at 01:43 PM More Newegg Deals
I have filled out a lot of rebates and have never had a problem until now. I know I should scan a copy of everything before I send it, but I just didn't have the time.

I received a letter from Newegg today, the same type of letter that small Newegg rebate come in. When I opened the letter there was no check but a message that says I submitted the wrong UPC.

I know that I submitted the correct UPC because I am very careful when filling out rebates. Do they scan the forms once they receive them like TigerDirect does?

I would like to see the actual for I submitted online because I think they just don't want to pay or somebody there made a mistake.

They want me to send in the UPC code (that I don't have because I already sent it in) by 9/2/2013.

This is one of the rebate from the Net-to-Zero sale so anyone else that bought something then should watch out for discrepancies in their rebates.

I take it you didn't photocopy everything you were submitting, before you mailed it, like they told you to?

From what I have read concerning Newegg rebate issues, most reps ask for the rebate to be re-submitted via fax. That is not an option for you as you did not make a copy of the rebate submission.

The one time I had to call in so far -- a quantity issue -- it did not seem that the telephone rep had easy access to the rebate submissions but that the rep could go find the rebate submission if the rep wanted to take the time. My rep took this route but after the call was over.

If I was in your situation, I would want the rep to read back the UPC number submitted.

Good luck.

The three rules of rebating: Make a copy, make a copy, make a copy.

I also have an invalid UPC rebate on the ILuv IEP315BLK 3.5mm Connector IPhone Earphones.

Obviously I don't have the UPC since I sent it to them. I didn't do photocopies. For one I don't have a scanner, two I don't plan on doing 500 photocopies.

Did anyone make a photocopy of this offer? Maybe if I send a photocopy of just the UPC they will accept that as proof.

Just got one of these in the mail... makes me so furious that i can do everything correct on my rebate submission and then I have to end up fighting with some customer service rep who could care less... This will be the last time I ever buy anything with a rebate attached from newegg.

If your talking about the Encore USB wireless adapter, which was the one I was talking about,it turns out there were two UPC codes on the box. TDMVP73 was nice enough to send me a copy of the correct UPC so if you find it useful the rep goes to him. I'm not sure sending a copy of the UPC will work but it's what I'm trying.

Two barcodes on the box but only one UPC on the box.

While UPCs are barcodes, barcodes are not necessarily UPCs.

I would not trust newegg rebates. Had very first bad rebate experience with them
