To make this deal even better, do the following:

1. Buy two 300$ gift cards here [cashstar.com]. You have to make 2 separate purchases because the max for a single purchase is 500$. You get a 50$ promo card for each 300$ gift card purchased. Essentially turning 600$ into 700$

2. Consolidate the two 300$ gift cards into a single 600$ gift card here [buygconline.com]

3. Check out via chat. you are allowed 3 forms of payment therefore you can use the 600$ gift card + the two 50$ promo cards.

Also ask the rep about the dell advantage program if you're not already a member. You get 5% cash back via gift/promo card on all your purchases. also you get free 2nd day shipping. Another discount you can ask for is the student discount which is 2% off.

If you choose to upgrade the video card or for some other reason the total is more than 700$, you will then have to buy another gift card of the amount over 700$. For example if your total is 708.97$, you will have to buy a 9$ gift card and consolidate it with the 600$ gift card. that way you have a 609$ gift card + the two 50$ promo cards. You have to do this because dell won't let you pay the difference with a credit card because they only accept 3 different payments.

Since I've never done this before and tend to stay away from Dell deals, does this mean that essentially it would be $600 OOP (spend $600 for GCs, get $100 bonus GCs which would cover the cost of the computer + tax)?

Thanks!

Looks like a good deal instead of building your own, I think.

Yeah it's a really annoying process but worth it since you're saving $50+. You need to buy two 300 GCs, fuse the two giftcards into one and then talk to customer support to buy your computer with one giftcard and two promo codes (you can only have three forms of payment max). Takes a while if you've never purchased from a giftcard from Dell before because they require you to verify your identity.

Buy two $300 GC, get two $50 bonus.

Consolidate the two $300 GC online into $600.
Call Dell or chat to place the order with $600 GC and $50 promo.
You will have a remaining $50 promo, you can't stack promos GC together on a single order.
