Keyword here is "SATEEN" it has a synthetic feel to it. I'm sure if I had a laboratory test it, it will not come out as 100% cotton but some synthetic blend to it.
Do you mean they are lying by saying 100 pecrt? If you haven't used these pl don't mislead others

sateen has nothing to do with synthetic feel. sateen just refers to the weave. do some research before threadcrapping. not to say that these sheets are great or anything. nice sheets are usually made from pima or egyptian cotton. these are with most certainty made from american upland cotton since they do not specify. to get the higher thread counts you need finer cotton fibers that pima and egyptian offer.

Must feel like sandpaper. I sleep on 1200TC sheets.

sucks for you since 1000 TC is the highest that you can achieve. anything above that is a marketing gimmick and you bought snake oil. http://luxury-linens.com/the-1000...ount-scam/

Why do none of these deals m sheets ever have black.
It makes all the spunk and secretions stand out.

I'm more bothered by the fact that most of these sheet deals are for low thread count crap. Half the time they aren't even what they're advertised as. Why is it so hard to find a good set? There needs to be a newegg for sheets. Amazon carries too much 3rd party generic crap and the reviews are often all over the place. One guy says they're sandpaper, the other person says they're the softest sheets they've ever used.

edit:

Do you know where I can buy a decent set of sheets? This bunk marketing crap is exactly what I've been trying to avoid.

I may just be way off the norm of what most like but I have never found a high thread count sheet comfortable, they all seem way too hot to me. We went through trying probably a dozen different sets of 500-1000 TC sheets and returned nearly all of them and the ones we kept are on the bottom of the pile for guest or emergency use. In "fine" hotels I've had to resort to a towel instead of the "great" "luxury" sheets once or twice because I was so uncomfortable. My favorite sheets are a few sets of approx. 200 TC sheets made in the EU (Spain or Portugal IIRC) I brought back from European trips but I'll take "sandpaper" 180 TC sheets over suffocating under 800 TC sheets any day. There are 180/200 TC sheets that feel as soft to us as any 800/1000 TC we have encountered, not common, nor real cheap but they are out there. I detest memory foam mattress for many reasons but one is I find them very hot and suffocating also (own and love latex mattress though). Again maybe just me but I think this whole high TC thing is way oversold.

And do they feel like sheets, or are they as thick as a blanket? If you know of a brand that are that high a thread count and still feel like sheets, I'd love to know it. I buy mostly online and I usually can't test them, so I typically don't go up that high since so many are just way too thick.

you usually have to pay for what you get with sheets. a quality egyptian sheet set of 600 TC runs $200+. I bought the Hotel Collection from Macys since I had a gift card (http://www1.macys.com/shop/produc...AMETER=BAG). I think it is nice, and it doesnt pill. You can look at restoration hardware or bloomingdales as well but you will pay a high price if you want high TC egyptian sheets..
