Why do none of these deals m sheets ever have black.
Because the black ones(had a very good quality Cotton set once) fad out fairly quickly and look like heck after about 14 washings.

I am going to bite on this deal based on the positive reviews, we will see as to how good they are but for the money they cant be all that bad....Can they???EEK!LMAORoll Eyes (Sarcastic)

It makes all the spunk and secretions stand out.

I'm more bothered by the fact that most of these sheet deals are for low thread count crap. Half the time they aren't even what they're advertised as. Why is it so hard to find a good set? There needs to be a newegg for sheets. Amazon carries too much 3rd party generic crap and the reviews are often all over the place. One guy says they're sandpaper, the other person says they're the softest sheets they've ever used.

edit:

Do you know where I can buy a decent set of sheets? This bunk marketing crap is exactly what I've been trying to avoid.
these are $18, ive personally used them and liked them enough to buy another set. dont get caught in the hype of tc count. at 300 i think they are at least honest with these sheets. while thin, they are soft and i have one set ive washed about 40 times with no tears or 'pile' effect. again $18 shipped. you cant touch this price at B&M, i would say this quality at a bed/bath type store would be $60 all day

Check out Costco. Like someone said earlier, soft long last sheets for a decent price!

you usually have to pay for what you get with sheets. a quality egyptian sheet set of 600 TC runs $200+. I bought the Hotel Collection from Macys -- but you will pay a high price if you want high TC egyptian sheets.
Or, you could join Sam's Club for $45/year and buy 600 TC Egyptian Cotton sheets [samsclub.com] for $60. I have these and they seem to be good quality and durable after only 3 months. They also appear identical to the $300 sheet sets I saw at Macy's, just saying.

that looks like a good deal. as long as you feel comfortable with it. again, i bought from macys since i had a gift card, and it didnt end up costing me anything. this is good too: http://www.costco.com/Veratex-Pla...16520.html

What kind of detergent did you use ?
Most detergents have brighteners in them, so, naturally, they will fade dark material.

For dark, especially black, clothes and sheets one should use detergents especially formulated for washing dark stuff.
Also, I use cold water washing dark clothes.

are these any good?
I'll answer your question in three ways:

1. 300 thread count sheets are only used in high end hotels like Motel 6, Comfort Inn, and Days Inn. Low end hotel chains such as Hilton, Four Seasons, and Mariott only use the much worse sheets such as 600-800 thread count.

2. Scientists at MIT, in an effort to save more trees, have come up with the solution that includes marketing small, square pieces of 300 thread count sheets as 300 grit sandpaper. This will reduce the overall need for more trees to make sandpaper with. Cotton farmers are happy as well, since only the aforementioned hotels and Dollar Stores were selling their 300 grit (thread count) sheets.

3. Last weekend was a great weekend for me. I was invited out to a bar with a couple of buddies. A few girls were invited as well, although I only knew a couple of them. The night was going well and one of the girls asked if I wanted to go for some coffee (if you don't know what that means, you're too young for this story). We hopped in the Maserati and headed back to her place. After a painful yet exciting hour in bed, I ended up sleeping on the floor because her carpet was softer than her 300 thread count sheets.

I was early 20's and probably washed everything in hot water and whatever detergent was the cheapest...
