Deal Details

RingPlus uses the Sprint network. This company inserts ads during the time you are waiting for the other party to pick up the call. Once the other person answers, the ad stops.

FreedomPop is also scheduled to have free phone service that uses Sprint phones. FreedomPop's offer is 200 minutes, Unlimited Texts, and 500mb per month. Calls will be done using mobile VOIP. Not known at this time is whether or not FreedomPop will allow BYOD at launch. FreedomPop definitely will require an Android device. RingPlus does not have such a requirement.

Since there is nothing special required, any Sprint phone should work with RingPlus. That is everything except phones reported lost/stolen and iphones.

The free 300 minute and 50 texts per month is not a limited-time offer. In fact, the plan is to give users even more minutes and texts as the company signs up more advertisers.

There does seem to be a finite number of users RingPlus is allocating for this no-cost service. In other words: You snooze; You lose.

A credit or debit card is required in case the users goes over the limit of 300 minutes or 50 texts.

To take advantage of this great deal merely follow these 11 steps; it takes about 4 minutes to sign up.

1) First, a Sprint* device, like an Android, (No i Phones!) that is not currently active is required. For example, if one canceled their subscription to another company or upgraded and now have a phone that has no service.
2) Then, go to https://my.ringplus.net/users/sign_in and click “Check My Device".
3) Enter the ESN number located on under the phone’s battery. It’s the long number called the Hex or Dec number (either one).
4) If this phone is ready to become a RingPlus phone and is not active at the moment under a contract or service, it will go to the next page.
5) After this, follow the steps to set up an account by entering an email and making up a password.
6) Then, go to “Add a New Device” in the account.
7) The ICID is only necessary with a Galaxy S4.
8) Choose the “BOYSD plan”.
9) A credit or debit card on file is necessary. This is required in case of exceeding the limit and/or making international calls
10) For more minutes or to make international calls or to use the in-call translator, go to” top up" and put money on the account. It’s a good Idea to always have a little bit of money available (around $10) in case more than 300 minutes is needed.
11) Now set device to factory reset (videos for most handsets are on YouTube).

Here is RingPlus' BYOSD Rules.
http://discourse.ringplus.net/t/b...n-rules/20

-Highlighted at the above link is this warning: *We are obligated to and will immediately deactivate any Virgin or Boost devices that find their way onto our network.*

-Having multiple byosd numbers on one account is fine provided that the phones are for different people.

-Buried in this thread and elsewhere in the interwebs are these posts from startledmarmot/Evan CTO of RingPlus.

Quote :
We'll never charge a credit card if a member goes over the allotted free amounts. If that account would like to continue past the free service boundaries, you can simply top-up with money and we'll draw down from that.
Quote :
Hmm.. that's interesting. You shouldn't be charged if the person doesn't pickup, but if it goes to voicemail (or anything triggers an answer on the far the end,) then that would count as a single minute. Unfortunately it's how we're charged, so it's what we have to do.

But looking into it!
Quote :
Hey Gary - you bet, all voicemails are transcribed and sent out via email. You can check your voicemail by dialing 43030 from the phone (which will actually turn into a much more interesting service soon enough), or simply by dialing your own phone number.

On many phones, "voicemail" is coded as pre-dial 1, or is a contact in the phone.
Quote :
Just to clear up any confusion - this 2 min per/missed call is a mistake. If someone hangs up without leaving you a voicemail, you shouldn't get charged anything, let alone 2 minutes!

We're investigating why this happening, and we've got a couple good leads. Rest assured it'll be solved. It's all just electrons! laugh out loud

Also, FYI, we'll /never/ spam your phone with calls or other hokey business. The advertisements play during the ringback tone period only.
Quote :
the minutes don't roll over, in the sense that they accrue into a big giant pile of minutes. But the 300 minutes/50 texts do reset every month, so you're back to 300/50!

Extra minutes/texts are currently rated at 2c/min/sms after the freebies are finished. Naturally, we'll /never/ bill your credit card if you don't top-up yourself. Nothing fishy; just a good old-fashioned new business model.
Quote :
However, while we work to fix the incoming voicemail minute issue, we're also going to (soon!) allow you to disable or set a very short timeout for your voicemail messages. No voicemail, no used minutes! Short timeout, maybe only 1 used minute!

Tie this into our ideas for user-editable blacklist/whitelisting of inbound/outbound calls and you're starting to see some potential here, eh?
-Next Promo when new members can signup is on December 10, 2013 at 10:00am. At that point, all new free users along with existing free users will get 325 minutes, 70 texts, and 10mb per month. Post made on RingPlus' forum says 350 Minutes, 50 texts, and 10 MB instead of 325/70/10.

-Previous New Promo Date of December 12 has been edited off the title.

-RingPlus has said they have been reevaluating deactivations that were made on September 13-14 2013 on a case-by-case basis. If you feel your number has been mistakenly taken away, then I strongly suggest you email RingPlus: support@ringplus.net to see if you can get reinstated.

-RingPlus wants the number's owner to use the phone as basically their main line. The free account is not designed to be somebody's spare phone that is never used.

-NEVER EVER mention to RingPlus what brand phone you are using as subsidized phones will get your account deactivated. Only give them the phone's ESN.

-Read this rule carefully that was posted by RingPlus on 9/18/13:

5) Within the first 7 day period after activation, inbound calls should not exceed outbound calls by a ratio of 10:1 over two or more consecutive days except if you make more than 17 outbound calls within 7 days.

This rules says:

A. (Within the 1st 7 days) Inbound to Outbound of 10 to 1 or more over 2 consective days is not allowed.
B. The above rule can be ignored if there are 17 calls made within first 7 days.

***Nowhere in this rule or any rule has RingPlus stated what is considered normal usage for a given period after the 1st 7 days***. That means, there is NO RULE that says that there must be 17 outbound calls every week, every month, every 90 days or anything. Only thing that has been said by RingPlus is that they can disconnect you if "the phone is not used for outbound calls for more than three weeks."

-For those who had accounts expire, be on the lookout for an email message from RingPlus about reactivating your account.

"We'll be contacting everyone whose BYOSD account was expired shortly to let them know they'll be able to reactivate it next Wednesday, Sept. 25. Please expect an email with more details later today or tomorrow."

-"Expired Accounts: Check Your Email for Reactivation" has been removed from the title of this thread until there is confirmation by multiple parties. As of now, the message was only seen by one member. Therefore, reactivation should have been classified as a big YMMV. Sorry for getting everybody's hope up prematurely.

-I now know that both xxxHolic and dc50 filed a complaint and have received a reactivation notice. Whether they are able to reactivate only because they made a complaint is unknown. To those who did not file a complaint and got a notification OR those who filed but did not get a notification, feel free to let us know.

-Some members here on SD were able to reactivate on 9/25 and into 9/26.

-Need a number to call?
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/pa/recordedforecasts.php

http://podlinez.com/
Podlinez is a site allows callers to hear podcasts over the phone.

As of March 9, 2014, Podlinez seems to be either down or gone. Try calling one of Audionow's stations if needed.
http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=66648696&postcount=5648
-Alternatively, call any number and hang up before it picks up. Theory here is that way R+ gets ad revenue and Sprint doesn't charge them. Plus, the user should be meeting the requirement of making outgoing calls.

-On November 15, 2013, Sprint will no longer allow iconic devices to be activated on Sprint mvno's. There is a good chance that this new policy will affect what phones can be activated on RingPlus. The devices that are not allowed as told by Sprint are to a mvno named PrepaYd Wireless are these. If you have trouble adding one of these phones past this date onto RingPlus, then you will know why.

HTC One
HTC 8XT
Kyocera HydroEDGE
LG G2
LG Optimus F3
Motorola X 1056
Samsung Ativ S Neo
Samsung Galaxy Mega L600
Samsaung Galaxy Note 3
Samsung Galaxy S4
Samsung S4 Mini/L520
Samsung Tab 3
Sprint Vital
ZTE N800/Awe
ZTE Vital

What does Sprint's new policy dated November 15th mean for Sprint mvno's in general?

Q. I already activated one of the phones on a Sprint mvno, will I be deactivated?
A. No.

Q. What happens if I port out of a Sprint mvno with an iconic device? Will I be able to use the phone with Sprint or a Sprint mvno?
A. Not until you contact Sprint directly and have them do whatever they need to reclassify the device as a Sprint phone.

Q. I understand the risks. Is there any harm to trying to activate an iconic device onto a Sprint mvno?
A. No.

Q. Wasnt the Google Nexus 5 listed on the original list of banned devices?
A. Yes it was, but Sprint changed their mind on November 15th.

Q. So are you saying that it is impossible to use an iconic device on a Sprint mvno?
A. If the mvno is following Sprint's orders, then yes for Sprint phones. If the mvno is selling their own iconic device, then of course that phone could be activated. However, RingPlus does not currently sell any phones at all.

Q. Does this affect Sprint's as-you-go phones?
A. Only if there is a phone listed above. I think for As-You-Go devices, the main concern is whether Sprint considers that phone active on Sprint or not.

Q. Is this above blacklist permanent? Will Sprint ever allow any of the phones listed above to be activated on one of their mvno's?
A. The list is not set in stone. There will be phones coming on AND coming off the list.

On January 24, 2014, RingPlus announced a new date for the free plan which is February 10, 2014. However, new users get fewer minutes than those who signed up in 2013. Now new free users will get 100 minutes, 30 sms, and 10mb. If you previously signed up in 2013, your plan remains unchanged. In addition, the minimum number of outgoing calls required is 30.

-On January 28, 2014 adjusted the 2014 free plan to 120min/50sms/10mb. Again, this plan is independent of the 2013 plans that existing free users are already on. Instead of 30 outgoing calls, the minimum now required for 2014 free users is 10 outgoing calls per month. RingPlus has also stated that as the year progresses, the amount given for this plan will increase as they attract more advertisers. Still, having fewer minutes means fewer people will be attracted to this new free plan. A small benefit is that the window to sign up for the 2014 free plan will be a much wider timeframe. Previously, free slots were gone in a matter of minutes. On February 14, RingPlus' plan is to have a 2 hour window: 10am to 12pm Pacific in which users can enroll.

-On February 7th 2014, RingPlus has again adjusted the 2014 free plan that will be available on February 10, 2014 from 10:00am Pacific to 12:00pm Pacific. Now users who sign up within that 2 hour time period will receive 200 minutes, 500 text messages, and 10mb worth of data. Other 2014 rules should still apply. The most important ones are a minimun of 1 outgoing call per week AND a minimum 10 outgoing calls per month. Once again, the 2014 plan and rules do NOT apply for those who are on the 2013 plan. In other words, users on the 2013 plan will not be bumped up to 500 text messages.

-The next free promo will be on March 6, 2014 at 10:00am Pacific. This promo will ONLY be available to those in Los Angeles, Bay Area(CA), and New York. Next free promo for everybody is coming in about 3 weeks.

Valid Zip Codes for the free March 6, 2014 plans: http://discourse.ringplus.net/t/z...tions/1168

March 6, 2014 (NEW YORK ONLY with very limited availability)
Rules: http://discourse.ringplus.net/t/f...-road/1179
Free: 300min, 500txt, 10MB

-Next free promo is on 03/28/14 from 12pm Pacific until 12:30pm Pacific. New signups will get 200min, 500sms, and 50mb. Free users currently on the 2013 plan will be able to upgrade by sending a support ticket to support@ringplus.net before 03/27/14 10pm Pacific.

Note that 2013 users wanting to switch to the 2014 plan will be subjected to the 2014 rules.

-On March 14, 2014, Sprint announced a new prepaid plan called "Sprint Prepaid" that replaces "As You Go". http://www.sprint.com/landings/pr...E:SPP:Plan Somebody asked Ringplus whether "Sprint Prepaid" phones would work on RingPlus. RingPlus responded yes, but that has yet to be confirmed by any actual users.

FYI, Tweek SchedCall to auto dial and auto disconnect on my phone. Some phone have battery saving features that automatically disable background process. For kyocera phone, there is an apps called "Eco Settings"...turn it off completely, restart phone. Now SchedCall works well, even when phone is sleep. bounce

mms discussion: http://discourse.ringplus.net/t/m...per/335/16

It is still 2c per text, and 7c per MMS . If you go over your limit you can just Top Up.

Here is how you can essentially block MMS:

The Most Common Steps

Dial ##DATA# (##3282#) on most Android/Feature phones, or ##DATA## on Nexus 5 and other devices.

Enter your MSL as located in your Accounts page on your RingPlus Dashboard.
Depending on your phone, you may be looking for a link labelled MMSC URL.

The MMSC URL may be located in a submenu, such as "Other" or "Advanced." Keep digging till you find it!

Replace the existing MMSC URL with something random like http://mms.stopmms.com

Save your changes!
Reboot your phone and your picture messages should be ready to send!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Old phone.

##(your MSL in account Dashboard)#

Then edit and key in the MDN(your ring+ 10-digit phone number) and MSID(in your account detail, without 0's)

Reboot.

The promotion starting this Sunday will give members the chance to take advantage of the lowest cost telecom service available until our new and improved FREE 325 minute/70 SMS &10 MB plan for all freebies accounts
[ringplus.net]

Closed for Tuesday 9/3 as of 8:45 A.M. PST

Closed for Friday 9/6 as of 10:28 P.M. PST

Closed for Thursday 9/12 as of 10:12 A.M. PST

CLOSED NOW - Remember that non-usage would lead to potential account closure

NEW ACTIVATIONS may take a few hours to have a fully working phone

**************************************************************************
1) You must make a successful outbound call within 24 hours.
Reason: People may sign up with a device that is not a valid Sprint device or does not function properly. In addition, users may leave it on stand-by or for use as an emergency phone. Unfortunately, this plan isn't geared towards those usage habits as this costs money and takes up space which could be filled by a new member who has a phone which can be used immediately.

2) You cannot have multiple active lines and switch between them to avoid topping up.
Reason: We don’t want a member having more than one active line. Please be aware that if it is a family with multiple lines for different members, we will not deactivate you.

3) Do not attempt to circumvent regular billing to gain more time than the allotted free amount.
Reason: While it's fun for everyone to find a loophole, it is not fun for the rest of us who end up paying the bill through increased costs. Let's keep it fun for everyone!

4) If all of the free voice minutes and texts are used up within a short period (within 7 days), the account must be topped up past $0.
Reason: This helps weed out people who are using minutes voraciously and then switching to another free account, as well as giving sponsors a longer time to get their messages heard.

5) Within the first 7 day period after activation, inbound calls should not exceed outbound calls by a ratio of 10:1 over two or more consecutive days, and You must make more than 17 outbound calls.
Reason: Your sponsors want their ads to be heard, and don't want the phone to be left in a drawer collecting voicemails. We understand some people are subject to voracious spam calls - we'll have a way to deal with that for everyone soon, and we can deal with those on a case-by-case basis.

6) If you disclose that you brought a phone which is not allowed on the system (including an iPhone, Blackberry, Virgin Mobile/Boost subsidized device, etc.), then…
Reason: We have to, by our contract with Sprint, deactivate you. We're sorry.

7) Do not use the phone for any activity that is illegal and prohibited by law.
Reason: These are not members we'd like in our community.

8) Do not harass other members with marketing and other inappropriate phone calls.
Reason: If you'd like to use RingPlus for advertising or marketing, we're here to help. We can offer advertisement spots for you to purchase in the ringback space, and then our members will get more free minutes instead of your costing them minutes.

9) Having multiple phones per member (not per account, but per physical person).
Reason: Only one phone per member. Different devices on one account is OK. If the same person has multiple phones, it’s not ok.

10) The phone is not used for outbound calls for more than three weeks.
Reason: We need to pay our fixed monthly costs, and if the advertisers cannot play ads for you, we all have to bear the cost.

11) You resell activated phones to other users for financial gain.
Reason: It's a good idea, but you must please phone us first, and we will allow you to create your own MVNO to sell as many phones as you like.

12) Any other behavior deemed inappropriate for the health of the program.
Reason: Since we can't foresee all possible scenarios, this is simply a rule that will only be applied on an individual member basis. If we discover other inappropriate behavior, we will discuss and publish it.

**************************************************************************

Deactivations

Deactivations are happening. I get "Account expired" instead of my phone number and the plan is gone.
  1. You activated a non-Sprint mothership device, such as any phone from Boost, Virgin Mobile, Cricket, Republic Wireless, or any other MVNO. *We are obligated to and will immediately deactivate any non-Sprint devices that find their way onto our network.*
  2. You didn't make a successful phone call within the first 24 hours after signing up to keep your account.
  3. You didn't use their phones "regularly". It is not fair to other potential new members to hold on to a limited BYOSD plan and not use it. We reserve the right to deactivate a member’s account if we determine that she/he is not using their cellphone.
  4. You signed up more than one phone. Only one active phone per member is allowed.

RingPlus has said they have been reevaluating deactivations that were made on September 13-14 2013 on a case-by-case basis. If you feel your number has been mistakenly taken away, then email RingPlus: support@ringplus.net to see if you can get reinstated.

**************************************************************************
STATEMENT FROM THE R+ FOUNDER
Dear Members,

First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to all former and current RingPlus members. Last Friday, my team and I had to make the tough decision to enforce our policy, and suspend a very small percentage of our free members who did not make a phone call within the first 24 hours. In addition, an even smaller percentage of accounts have been suspended, as they were flagged by our security for call partners as contradicting regular and normal usage.

To be absolutely clear, RingPlus would love to provide our service to as many new and old members as possible, and we are not interested in kicking them off of our network. However, we please ask you to understand that RingPlus must also protect our members, and not jeopardize our common goal of providing free phone service for all.

I understand your frustration at these suspensions. You may find it difficult to understand why, after trying very hard to get into the very limited free membership program, you found yourself expelled after only 24 hours or several days. It may also leave a nasty taste that there was no personal e-mail warning members beforehand that their accounts were about to be suspended.

We founded RingPlus with the following Mission Statement;
“RingPlus is a free-spirited telecom community in which we all interact in an environment of honesty and trust with the end-goal of providing free telecom service to everyone.”
Our complete staff and the great majority of our members believe in and support this mission.

We believe that the rules of the free BYOSD plan were clear to all members, as they had been posted on our website and discussed throughout many forums. These rules stated that members have to make at least one successful phone call within 24 hours after activation, and afterwards use the phone in a manner consistent with normal usage. We thought that these rules, as they had been widely discussed, were well understood. We sincerely apologize to those who misunderstood.

We have received incidental e-mails asking us to reevaluate specific cases, which we are currently doing with pleasure.

Once again our sincere apologies.

Karl Seelig (Founder, RingPlus)

**************************************************************************

Please don’t attempt to activate
  • push-to-talk devices
  • iPhones
  • Trios
  • Blackberries
  • Boost, VM, other MVNO

These devices are unsupported by our system. Also, this plan is only valid for Sprint “mothership devices,” so please don’t activate any phones from Boost, Virgin Mobile, or any other MVNO. We do not have permission to activate any other company’s devices, and in addition they most likely will not function due to blocking software. Any mistaken activation costs RingPlus money and takes a valuable space away for one of our other members. If too many people try to activate the wrong kind of phone, they may jeopardize this service for all of us.
*We are obligated to and will immediately deactivate any Virgin or Boost devices that find their way onto our network.*

From Evan McGee @startledmarmot [twitter.com], CTO at RingPlus.net [ringplus.net] "Just a quick note for all the Slick Dealers here (and everywhere) - thank you all for the outrageous support over the past few days.
Because of the awesome demand, this limited Free BYOSD enrollment period has ended. Now we need to match our members to the appropriate ad channels, take some notes, maybe catch a nap or two.
After the matching is complete, we will reopen. You can follow our Twitter account for the next free 300 minutes and 50 text promotion - hint: it'll be soon. Follow us at @ringplusmobile [twitter.com] or stop by the website for updates." Post

Will a custom Android ROM work?
Quoted from binji: It won't work on a cyanogen based ROM but it will work if it is a stock Sense based ROM. I had to revert to a stock ROM in order to get the ##847446# to work so I could go in and edit mdn & msid. After that, hit done and the phone restarts by itself. Service will be working after the restart and after you confirm that, you can re-install any custom ROM of your choice.

MSL
You can get your MSL on your Ring+ dashboard AFTER you've registered your device. Alternatively, by downloading MSL reader from the Google Play store

Quoted from GIRay:

HTC Android
The following steps are intending for the majority of HTC devices running Android software.
The first thing you will need to do is ensure that 3G/LTE (if you have an LTE device), voice, and text messaging are all working properly on your device. To do this, a Carrier Wipe, and Profile & PRL update are required. Please follow the steps below:
1. Carrier Wipe
Open the dialer
Dial # # 72786 #
Enter your Master Subsidy Lock (MSL)
Press the "MENU" key
Select "Reset"
The phone will then powercycle
2. System Update
Touch the “Application” icon
Touch “Settings”
Touch “System updates” (on some newer phones, this may be one level up from the Settings menu)
(Note: If it says "No updates available" you may not be connected to the internet. Make sure your WiFi is enabled and connected. You also may need to change your WiFi sleep policy, check it out here)
3. Profile Update
Touch the “Application” icon
Touch “Settings”
Touch “System updates” (on some newer phones, this may be one level up from the Settings menu)
Touch "Update Profile". The device will restart when complete.
4. PRL Update
Touch the “Application” icon
Touch “Settings”
Touch “System updates" (on some newer phones, this may be one level up from the Settings menu)
Touch “Update PRL”. Wait for the PRL update to complete, then touch “OK”. Your device may restart after the PRL update. If not, please restart your device.
Once your device restarts, 3G/LTE data, voice, and text messaging should be enabled.

For those having trouble activating Kyocera Kona phones:
Just wait a few hours and then do: (You have to wait a few hours for towers to update and will auto push the MDN and MSID to your phone.)

Method 1) The easiest method is to use "Update PRL". For Kona it is found under Tools > Update Phone > Update PRL. The phone will take 30 seconds to update itself then reboot and you are DONE!

OR

Method 2)
To set it up with ringplus, type ##786# , then type 2 (to reset), and it would prompt you for MSL. MSL is displayed on your ringplus dashboard. After entering MSL the phone would reset and restart with all the new info. No need to edit all the info manually.

But if you want to get rid of the auto update message at the beginning of a reboot, spinning circle, and/or error code 67, you need to top up $0.02 to get data and then do the method 1 or 2 again. (I did topup, so I can confirm.) It'll take about 2-3 mins to finish to whole process. Be patient!

For Kyocera S2100, do the following.(credit to yhlbb & planck) Worked on Samsung Intecept for Virgin Mobile.
Kyocera S2100 does NOT work anymore as of 12/10/2013.
Try (note the ##):
dial ##VIRGIN# or ##847446#.
edit
For MDN, delete the original numbers first by pushing the arrow above the hang up button, then enter phone number for mdn.
For MSID, delete the original numbers first by pushing the arrow above the hang up button, enter msid.
done
(phone will reboot after you select 'done'.)

Windows Mobile

Quote from insanecow View Post :
For Sprint WinMo devices, you should be able to do a ##786# dialer code, then RTN reset.
Then just manually enter the MDN (mobile number) and MSID - all this is on the RingPlus dashboard now.

My Treo 700wx (winmo 5.1) was reset and activated using the above.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE USING A DUMB PHONE, HERE IS HOW YOU CHANGE YOUR OLD SPRINT PROFILE TO NEW RINGPLUS PROFILE:

once u have master reset you need to program the phone.
you will need information from your online dashboard.

here are some basic steps:

1. locate the MSL # on your dash board for your phone. it is a 6 digit #.
for this example let uus assume it is 123456

2. on your phone hit ##123456#

3. depending on the phone you now need to manually enter the MSID and the MDN number. These will be 10 digits phone number (BUT THEY WILL BE DIFFERENT)

4. the MDN number is the phone number lest assume 408222333 (408 is area code)

5. the MSID number is on your dashboard...it will have some leading 0 (maybe 5 or so) then the area code [ie408 in our example] then 7 digits
... for example it will be 000004084445555...........just enter 4084445555

6. depending on the phone..once u have updaed this info..just save and reset the phone...

7. repeat steps i and 2 ..just to view if the changes are made...

hope this helps

Phone Number: 4082223333
Model: Unknown
ESN: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
MSL: 123456
MSID: 000004084445555
Status: Active

You need to make at least 1 call per week and 30 calls per month, or your account will be cancelled without notice. Good Luck!

RingPlus is an Ad-Supported Cell Service that Gives Users 300 Minutes and 50 Texts per Month for Free. - Next Promo is 02/10/2014 at 10:00am Pacific (New Users Now Get 100/30/10)

A credit or debit card is required in case the users goes over the limit of 300 minutes or 50 texts.

take advantage of this great deal merely follow these 11 steps; it takes about 4 minutes to sign up.

-Highlighted at the above link is this warning: *We are obligated to and will immediately deactivate any Virgin or Boost devices that find their way onto our network.*

-Having multiple byosd numbers on one account is fine provided that the phones are for different people.

Wonder if you could use a converted VM phone.

Holy crap! You can use an unconverted (non-flashed) VM phone. Sweet.

Worked for me. Activated an old Evo 4G LTE I had. After the above instructions I rebooted the phone, turned on wifi, did a profile update, a prl update and it worked.

Data will not work and it plays an ad while the other party is called instead of hearing it ring. Also you have to use the area code when you dial out.

Thanks OP.

So let me get this straight,
I have a few AT&T and T-mobile locked go-phones (smart as well as dumb phones) and none will work with this service, correct?
I need to have an actual Sprint (or unlocked) Android device, correct?

Correct, AT&T and T-Mobile both use GSM technology while Verizon/Sprint use CDMA. Two totally separate technologies.

However, a few of the Blackberries are dual radio, ie. they can work on both.
