It's unlocked & works on T-Mobile (MetroPCS), AT&T, internationally, & prepaid MVNO's: Lyca, AirVoice, Ptel, GoSmartMobile, Straight Talk, Simple Mobile, H2O, and more. check out www.allprepaidplans.com [allprepaidplans.com] see the Discover by Network on the homepage.

FAQ: Does NOT work on Verizon, Sprint, Virgin Mobile

Works with AT&T & T-Mobile HSPA+ (4G) high speed data. TMobile's LTE band 4 (AWS(1700/2100 Mhz) will require unlocking the bootloader and flashing old radio. It's easiest to flash a custom recovery, and use the custom recovery to flash the radio [xda-developers.com].

Unlocking, rooting, relocking and unrooting simplified! (and much more!) - credit to mickey1987 for sharing the linkl

1. Take complete backup including System apps+Data and Shared data
2. Unlock phone (This will wipe out you phone with factory setup. Hence step 1 is recommended)
3. Root phone.
4. Take Nandroid backup (I was saved with this backup when radio flash file cause error 'unfortunately com.android.phone has stopped')
5. Take APN backup (Keep it in case if you need it for future use)
6. Restore backup you took from step 1.
7. Try your luck with radio flash (It worked but it gave me com.android.phone error after phone reboot. I restored backed-up from step 4 and 1)
8. Simple step to enable 4G on t-mobile NW. (You will need to re-do them every time you reboot phone)
a. Change APN setup to fast.t-mobile.com
Setting -> Wireless & Network -> Mobile Netweks - > Access Point Names -> T-Mobile US
b. Change preferred network type to LTE/GSM auto (PRL)
Dial *#*#INFO#*#*
Phone information
select preferred network type to LTE/GSM auto (PRL)

NOTE: uses micro-SIM cards. Cut your own micro-sim
http://www.thechinacellphone.com/...mplate.pdf
keep the cut out if you would like to restore it back to normal sim in future.

I recommend using the case, they are available in different colours (Mylaram)

Also case available on ebay for $2.99

Bought two phones, one as a gift. Apparently its not as easy to use for slightly older folks (read: parents) as compared to a windows phone. I'm hoping Google will let me return the device.

If they don't, let me know, and I'll buy it off you. Is it 8 or 16gb?

When the newness wears off, give us an honest opinion. Almost nobody sees the N4 as a better phone than a S3.
I agree that the newness is still on me. This is great compared to my S3, but I think I got a bad S3. Camera and screen are def better on the S3.

But pretty much everywhere else the N4 is better. My S3 got super super slow over time and it had screen burn, first phone to ever have screen burn.

For people that don't use their phones that much and just leave it idle, was wondering how much battery can drain throughout the day for u guys.

I agree N4 too me feels better quicker more solid build . My gf has the s3 and after using pure android 4.3 on the nexus the touch wiz makes the s3 feel bloated and slower. I also get better LTE signal and speed on the nexus. both phones are really nice for me I prefer the nexus. I also got OSB working so I can plug any USB flash drive and use it for extra storage. its easy if your rooted unlocked. Will say the S3 screen is nicer bigger and brighter.

Ok, I guess I will give this a try on here. I am at a loss. Want to love this phone but one thing is holding me back--MMS.

Anyone here buy this thing and use it on Straight Talk with an AT&T micro-sim card?

If so, care to share your APN settings if you are able to send and receive MMS messages?

I got mine a week or so ago. Used a Straight Talk T-Mobile sim card for first five or so days. Everything worked great and I loved it. The only issue is that T-Mobile in my area is very spotty, especially inside. Great signal outside of my house, dropping calls all the time inside. Also have a city I visit a lot. Went there and had Edge everywhere.

Decided to deal with all the throttling crap and just order an AT&T sim card. Speeds are great everywhere I go, inside and out. Can't get MMS to work for anything though. I can send them, but can't receive them. Straight Talk, after repeated calls, is no help. I've used every setting they have given me and nothing is working. I have scoured the web and used every setting I could find online--none of them work.

Does anyone have a setting they are using with an AT&T sim that is actually working for them?

Pretty sure this is a carrier/settings issue rather than the phone

Just sold this back to Ebay. I honestly think I'm just getting tired of Android, I switched to a Lumia 520 and I started taking that out more, until I decided to just sell this one. One of the things I kind of hated with this phone was how Fragile it is, I always kept it in a really bulky case but I was still constantly worried about carrying it around. Don't have that problem with my Lumia since It's a budget phone.

Oh, it is definitely a carrier/settings issue and not the phone itself. Wasn't trying to imply the opposite. I just can't find settings to work with the Straight Talk AT&T plan at all and am beyond frustrated with the whole thing. I figured one of the many who bought this phone in this deal must be using the same service/carrier as me and would be able to and willing to share their (working) APN settings for MMS.

If anyone is having buyer's remorse and is willing to sell for at or around what they paid for it (+ reasonable shipping), please send me a PM.

I've never had a change to check this phone out, how is it fragile?

I'm in the same boat. AT&T Straight talk and can send but not receive texts. I used the sim card that was in m iphone 5. Sunday night I had a text conversation with my daughter . I could send her texts from the Nexus 4 , but her replies to me came through the Iphone. Odd. I do receive texts from contests that I have entered.
