8GB Nexus 4 sells out on Google Play, and it isn't coming back

If you bought one within the last 15 days you can fill out this form to get a price adjustment:

It's unlocked & works on T-Mobile (MetroPCS), AT&T, internationally, & prepaid MVNO's: Lyca, AirVoice, Ptel, GoSmartMobile, Straight Talk, Simple Mobile, H2O, and more. check out [] see the Discover by Network on the homepage.

FAQ: Does NOT work on Verizon, Sprint, Virgin Mobile

Works with AT&T & T-Mobile HSPA+ (4G) high speed data. TMobile's LTE band 4 (AWS(1700/2100 Mhz) will require unlocking the bootloader and flashing old radio. It's easiest to flash a custom recovery, and use the custom recovery to flash the radio [].

Unlocking, rooting, relocking and unrooting simplified! (and much more!) - credit to mickey1987 for sharing the linkl
1. Take complete backup including System apps+Data and Shared data
2. Unlock phone (This will wipe out you phone with factory setup. Hence step 1 is recommended)
3. Root phone.
4. Take Nandroid backup (I was saved with this backup when radio flash file cause error 'unfortunately has stopped')
5. Take APN backup (Keep it in case if you need it for future use)
6. Restore backup you took from step 1.
7. Try your luck with radio flash (It worked but it gave me error after phone reboot. I restored backed-up from step 4 and 1)
8. Simple step to enable 4G on t-mobile NW. (You will need to re-do them every time you reboot phone)
a. Change APN setup to
Setting -> Wireless & Network -> Mobile Netweks - > Access Point Names -> T-Mobile US
b. Change preferred network type to LTE/GSM auto (PRL)
Dial *#*#INFO#*#*
Phone information
select preferred network type to LTE/GSM auto (PRL)

NOTE: uses micro-SIM cards. Cut your own micro-sim
keep the cut out if you would like to restore it back to normal sim in future.

I recommend using the case, they are available in different colours (Mylaram)

Also case available on ebay for $2.99

**Expired as of 9/1** XtremeGuard Full Body Protector $2 Shipped

I stand corrected.

"Should Google reduce its price on any Device within 15 days from the date you order it, you must contact Google Play Support within 15 days of the price change to request a refund or credit for the difference between the price you were charged and the reduced price."
but you're still right about their HORRIBLE customer service.

Are there any rumored specs for the Nexus 5?

If only they had it at this price in June. I bought a Nokia 521. Its ok, but I would rather have an Android phone

Have had the Nexus 4 since release, took a while to get used to after using iPhones for a few years, but it's a nice phone.

Just so everybody know, this phone has better spec than that of the U.S. LTE GS3 sans the LTE. This phone is a top tier phone at mid tier price.

Which really disappoints me. Google does almost everything the way it should be done, yet their customer service is terrible. Wish they would fix that.

Why the heck does everyone keep saying the Nexus 5 is coming? Hasn't Google made it clear that the naming scheme is tied to the screen size? Nexus 7 isn't 3 versions newer than the Nexus 4. And if that was in any doubt, look at how this year's N7 was named Nexus 7 (2013) instead of Nexus 8 or even Nexus 7.1.

The Nexus 5 isn't coming. But the Nexus 4 (2013) probably is...

(And no, I doubt the next Nexus will be a ridiculous 5 inches in size. Google has stuck with the current size for two Nexus generations now, and if the Moto X is any indication of what Google thinks is the right screen size, the next Nexus will probably retain the same size as the N4.)

I did not like my Nexus 4. Luckily sold it when 50% AT&T no contract got a few S4s from that.

I HATE the glass back. When it vibrated, my phone would slip off the desk causing the back to crack then eventually it shattered. Limited choices with accessories was also problematic. Phone was plagued with reboot and throttle problems. Battery life sucked and no removable battery and no SD.
