I switch over to DirecTV a couple months ago and was able to get $400 cash back with my deal. I received a $200 Costco cash card, $10 off for $10 months (refer a friend) and $100 back through Bank of America Bank Amerideals.

Here's what I did:

- Signed up for DirecTV through the Costco website (no, you do not have to be a member at Costco to get the deal) Here's the link: http://www.costco.com/directv.html

- Click on the link. It will say it is transferring you to the DirecTV website. Click OK

- Click on the "View All Packages" button on the page. This will take you to the package options.

- Select the package you want and the equipment. Once you are looking at your cart, open a new tab with this link: http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/ref...rogram.jsp

- Once back in your cart, you can submit the order. MAKE SURE THE COSTCO LOGO IS AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE. ALWAYS TAKE A SCREEN SHOT OF THE CONFIRMATION PAGE AND PRINT IT OUT.

If you are having a difficult time adding the referral code, you can always call in once the order is placed and let them know you forgot to add your referral code. My friend was able to do this, but had to call a couple times until he found a C.S. rep that would add it.

If you have Bank of America, you can sign up through their BankAmeriDeals page to received $100 back with a new DirecTV service. I just received confirmation that I received the $100 rebate through BofA. You must pay your bill the first two months using your debit card to received the $100 rebate.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Did not work for me...

We're sorry, the DIRECTV referral offer is not available to customers who take advantage of the DIRECTV Costco offer.

Continue with the DIRECTV Costco offer.

Clear your browser history and try it again. The key is to not enter the referral code until you have selected the package and equipment in your cart.

You have to call for the referral discount, just call after you order through costco website. You must call before installation date though.

Didn't jump on the BoA deal though :[ signed up a 2 months ago.

Had to post a BIG TY!

Switched over for my husband to get his NFL Ticket. PM'ed OP and walked me through it. Had to call in to get referral discount, but worked the first time. I've been looking for a while and this was the best I could find!

In total, $400 rebate for switching. Hope this helps other TWC customers that are looking to switch. PM me for any help.

Thanks for the detailed info. If I switch, this is not a bad way to go. I've already got family on DTV so i can just use their code. Repped for a nice $ saving deal. Hate Cable fees.

I'm about to order Direct TV. I've been researching the past 2 days as I'm moving and will need new cable and TV service. Time Warner refused me any deals and they are very expensive compared to Charter Cable that I have now so I'll be going with either DirectTV, Uverse or Dish.

Can someone please explain more how the 2nd year works after the deals all fall off? I did a mock order and the first year comes to like 61.99 (no referral code yet) and then jumps to 91.99 the second year. The first year is great but that 91.99 kills me. I previously today had an additional $5.00 discount, but it's been removed now. It was showing up as 56.99 for 1st year. (?????)

Is there a way to get that second year reduced when the time comes? Is that something easy to do and should be no problem say if I went to a cheaper package and dropped a mini receiver.

The second year, I don't see a price next to NFL, so is that free the second year or I would need to cancel after the first year and then no charge for 2nd year.

What are all the other discounts showing up for you? I want to make sure I take advantage of all discounts....after all this is slickdeals and I'm cheap.

Thanks.

ETA:

This is a link to my cart: https://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/ne...ID=1739887

When looking at the link, am I getting all discounts available?

I assume the second year at 138.99, I'd need to subtract the premium movie charge of 47.00 which makes the cost, 91.99 total for the full second year?
