Serta office chairs, are they really as bad as the reviews say? Looking for help picking a chair

I was planning on getting a Serta office chair, the thing is the reviews on these chairs are horrible, they seem like nice chairs when I try them in the stores. Are they really that bad? Most people say the chairs are failing within 7-8 months of use, these chairs are not cheap either, most cost $139 or more.

I was specifically looking at this chair:

I tried this Serta chair in the store and sat in it for a while and I really liked it.

I was just wondering if I should pay a few extra bucks for a Serta chair or buy something like the Finnegan office chair from Officemax seen here:

I can also get this chair from Sam's Club with $30 savings, it will be a bit of a hassle to track it down but I haven't tried it yet:

I usually keep my chair at the lowest point so I am not sure if the cylinder failing would be an issue, but I do sit in my chair a lot so I need something that will be sturdy and that will list, right now I have a crap chair and I am sitting on another cushion so my back doesn't hurt so I really need to pick a chair, the chair I am using now I bought many years ago at Officemax for like $50 and its lasted me at least 6 years before my back started to hurt so I expect whatever chair I pick out to at least last me 5 years. The seat padding wearing out might be an issue. I just don't want to pick a chair, and find out after a couple weeks or months that I have wasted my money.

Horrible reviews when it has 4.3 stars out of 90+ reviews?

Anyway... I bought this exact same chair almost two years ago and it still looks and functions great. I work from home, so I sit in it 6-8 hours a day, five days a week. I think I paid just over 100 bucks for it since it was on sale and I had some coupons and what not.

So, yeah, no issues here and wouldn't hesitate buying one again. Actually I am currently looking for a chair for my 18-year old daughter and are contemplating giving my current chair to her and buying a new one for myself.
