Comcast [comcast.com] Internet Only Performance (25 mps) $19.99/mo for first 6 months then $ 34.99 year exisiting (and new) customers - YMMV

I was paying $64.99 since my original promotion ended.

When I called to cancel and switch to ATT. The retention department said they can offer me $10 off for the next 6 months, I told them that was still high and asked if there were any other promotions.
Came back with Performance for $19.99 for first 6 months and $34.99 after that.

I called 18665941234

I am in Chicago (Westen suburbs)

good lucklook around

Comcast is a horrible company they constantly increased my bill even though we constantly agreed on a package. And every other month I have to call and waste hours trying to decrease the price back to the one they offered me.

Beware I think they purposely increase prices on customers and hope the customer wont notice or wont care enough to call in return they make millions and millions of extra dollars.

careful with comcast. i got into some heated debates with them after some stupid rep lying and selling me a performance starter package internet at 6mbps down instead of performace at 25mbps. Asked the rep 5 times if it is performance at 25mbps for 24.99. Answered yes. Ask if there are contract and expiration for the promo. Answered no to both.

Found out later after running a speed test that the promo was 6mbps at 24.99 for only 6 months.
Wasted three hours trying to get someone to change pricing. Refused/ made excuse about pulling up the phone conversation on the sales rep.
Worse company ever. No one could adjust the price afterwards or offer a comparable offer.
No customer loyalty from this company. Call loyalty department 3 times. All three times reps encouraged me to leave comcast and go with ATT and said we are sorry we cant offer you any lower pricing.
Ending up canceling and opening another account in a different name just cause its comcast or the highway here.
Just play the game with them. After your promo ends, cancel the internet and have another family member open a new account.

Dont get screwed and waste your time. they offered me 19.99 for the first 6 months too but that was also the performance "starter" package. Be very cautious.

Same exact thing happened to me I seriously can't stand comcast customer support they are one of the worst company's to deal with, I am chatting with twitter comcast support reps hopefully they will get the issue resolved.

Frown I called them, waited for 40 minutes, was told the price was 29.99 first 6mo, 44.99 the rest. I was very nice throughout so he was willing to look through the 'Marketing' something or the other, and still came back empty Frown(

I'm in Northern Chicago suburbs and would absolutley LOOOOOVE to get off DSL and onto some 21st century internet connection

you should try again. but maybe this deal is only through retention department only and not for new customers.
which doesn't make sense.
anything is better than DSL

Comcast sucks major balls, i know that. I don't want to switch to DSL or cancel and resign under a different name.
I called them when my bill up originally and they would not do anything. But by threatening to cancel service will usually work.
I did not have an ATT ad.

Can I cancel my service in my name and start a new one in my wife's name or does she have to call to open the account in her name? I'm paying $64.99/month right now for just internet.

Comcast in Pennsylvania is telling me that my "Performance Internet is 15 Mbps with speedboost up to 20 Mbps." I see anywhere from 8-15 Mbps at any time do I don't know of maybe a different market has a different speed. Regardless, I got that promotion over a year ago and am currently in my first year of $34.99

Comcast told me that they don't even offer that promotion any longer. Sneaky sneaky. Either way, great find OP.

The trick is to call and tell them you're going to cancel. Every big company has a "retention" department to offer special promotions to keep you as a customer. Don't settle for the first option they offer either, 95% of the time there is something better they can offer!

A little tip, try this with your credit card companies too! Or any type of subscription service like cell phones, cable, even my electric provider gave me a lower rate! Good luck!

Bay Area existing customer was just offered the blast (50mbps) and basic TV for $49.99 first six months and no contract... no go on any sort of internet only promotion for existing customer.
That one just expired on me, back to $80 minus $10 customer discount plus tax = $72. Since I don't need the basic cable I will have to renegotiate.

I was paying $65/mo for a while. I called to cancel, and they offered $50/month. I refused. She gave me no other option but to cancel- I selected a day a few days later so I could still use internet.

During that call, I had selected to be surveyed for feedback. They called me back an hour later and I gave my rep bad ratings and said I wouldn't use them again. At the end they asked if I wanted to leave a message and get called back later, I said yes, stating that my "friends" had gotten a better rate in the same area for $30/mo for a year for Xfinity performance internet.

1 hour later, they called me saying what's up. I restated the rate and sounded angry because the rep I spoke to didn't offer me the $30/mo promotion. They checked and then said that they would be able to get me the rate. I was happy....

Bear in mind my "friends" are slickdealers and Comcast is my only option in this area (Central NJ) so it works in a monopoly as well. I've been putting off this call for a year but it was well worth it and I'll do it again now that I know how it plays out! Key is to let them know exactly what the promotion is... and make sure it exists first!

10 year customer and dual house using Comcast for 4-5 of those years. This has happened to me two dozen times. Half the time it's 1 or 2 phone calls, other times, it's bend over. At one point I even had chat dialogs with unique IDs showing who I talked to and what was promised and did not get, and I was told to pound sand.

If it weren't for DSL being 10-20x slower and of equal price after promo period I'd leave the company.

It's not a very nice company, but it still has the best value packages even at full price for what you get, you just always have the play the game.
They are all liars, I even played a recorded conversation back to them once and they just pretend like dumb idiots and say they cant do anything

Call and say you want to cancel but set date to end of next week. If you are not offered a deal, you can call back and say you changed your mind about cancelling. But make sure you can do this if you do not have other internet providers.

I called to cancel yesterday. They offered $ 19.99 Performance package for 6 months. I was paying close to $ 52 for this. I have some sort of 'enhanced' Basic TV for $ 35 and asked if they could do something. I was offered this TV package and Blast internet for $ 49.99. After 6 months it would increase to $ 65. I gladly took this offerbounce

great thread, guys.

if I can't get the discount and decide to cancel and re-enroll with my wife's name, does anyone know how long I'll be left without internet?
