- Minutes expire after 365 days
- Additional minutes cost between $0.17 - $0.07 (including the 3x bonus)

If you actually plan to use more than 1400 minutes and want Texting, Lyca Mobile (T-Mo network) is the best deal right now for pay as you go: $0.02 / min, $0.04 / text with free incoming. You will pay more overall with TracFone if you use more minutes and texting.

TracFone
LG 840G + 1400 minutes = $60
1400 additional minutes = ~$100

Lyca Mobile
Nokia 521 $80 + 1400 minutes $28 = $108
1400 additional minutes = $28

There are many choices in prepaid. Do the due diligence between wasting your money. First pick the network you know is reliable in your area, then identify your usage, then find a suitable plan or pay as you go. You can use www.allprepaidplans.com [allprepaidplans.com] for plan comparisons for ~25 prepaid providers. See the "Discover by Network" on the homepage.

Great deal and thanks for the post! A couple weeks ago I purchased one of these phones for one of my daughters at $100 and was grateful for the deal.

Your find is extremely sweet! A year of service alone through Tracfone is $99.95 and with your deal, it is $60 for a year of service, triple minutes,.... and a brand new phone with more capabilites. I picked one up for my other daughter whose year of service was about to expire.

Great find!!! and thanks for sharing!

Assuming you are already on Tracfone service then yes you can transfer it, otherwise I doubt it.

Can I transfer my current tracfone minutes to this phone? I have about 800 minutes on my tracfone and I have a contract for the next 6 months. Thanks.

I've done that many times... so unless they've changed something, the answer is YES.

Thanks. I have done it in the past too. I just wanted to make sure this continues. I pretty much buy one phone a year. A dumb phone is good enough for me.

Register your old phone at Tracfone.com first if you have not already done so. Transfer your existing phone number, days, and minutes before you use the promo card with the new phone.

I've never been a customer of TracFone before. Please help me understand what I'd be getting if I jump on this deal.

1400 minutes for life? Or is that per year? Does the $60 I pay upfront give me one phone and 1400 minutes for me to use whenever I want, and good until I use all the minutes up?
My answer: As part of the $60 purchase, you get 1400 minutes for the first 365 days. If you don't use up all 1400 minutes within 365 days, you lose all remaining airtime. For this purchase, one dollar gets you 28 minutes of talk time.

Question: But is it billed per second or per minute?

What's the monthly or annual fee? Or is there no annual fee?
Answer: No regular fees. It's a prepaid.

Question: If I have 0 airtime, can I still receive calls for free? Will incoming calls work? Or does zero airtime mean no incoming and no outgoing calls?

Question: If I travel to Canada, what then? Will the TracFone work? While in Canada, how much is the cost for:
  1. When I receive a call from the USA?
  2. When I call the USA?
  3. When I call a Canadian phone number?
Answer: HSN page says "Phone and service will not operate internationally (outside of the U.S.)"

What happens after the year is up?

net10 > tracfone.

they're basically the same thing except tracfone doesn't offer any unlimited plans.

i have this phone for net10 and it works well. it's a pretty cool "semi smart" phone.
