Brilliance.com vs Blue Nile

So I'm looking for a pair of ~1.5 total carat weight platinum diamond stud earrings. I looked at Costco, Blue Nile, and Brilliance. Before anyone else says it yes I understand this is a crapload of $ but it's basically a once in a lifetime purchase unless they're lost/stolen but then they'll be insured!

What am I missing?

This is as close as I was able to make it so I understand it's not perfect but should be pretty darn close. I'm not familiar and this falls under the help me save some cash on this expense but Brilliance has a 1.47 total carat weight H, VVS1, with an Ideal cut that is GIA certified for $4,300 (plus the setting cost)

Blue Nile has a 1.46 total H, VVS2, with a very good cut for $4,644. I can't get any coupon code to work with a custom built earring so excluding that why is Blue Nile more for a pair of stones that aren't as good? Is this the norm for them these days or is there something up with the Brilliance stones? Their reviews on-line seem pretty positive.

As a comparison here's a 1.5 I VS2 from Costco for $5,000.

Is Brilliance really that much better than the other guys? It's been awhile since I've looked and damn prices have jumped up a lot and was just wondering if I was missing something as the two best players back when I bought a ring now seem to be decently more expensive than Brilliance.com. There were other loose stones at Brilliance that were much more cheaper for the same criteria but they were EGL certified so I only looked at the GIA certified ones which is what Blue Nile and Costco show, or atleast what I've seen them show.

TIA

Brilliance is much cheaper then the rest They have less over head and are a great company. Often they sell the same exact stones as blue nile as both vendors source their stones from the same place.
Fyi the screenshot has the wrong stone pulled up on brilliance site

Thanks. I'm not sure what you mean by it being the wrong stone. They were as close as I could get to something on the BlueNile site. They seemed cheaper across the baord and I hadn't ever dealt with them before but saw them mentioned a couple times here.

Will probably give them a shot.

I think what optimaldeals means is that, when you click on the diamond comparison jpeg, it shows a 1.46ct VVS2, instead of a 1.47ct VVS1. But, yeah, I heard that Brilliance is a good company to deal with. I saw a review about them on WeddingWire, and the girl said they were honest and gave her good value for her money.
