I don't believe it. I remember tons of people getting the flu and more like the worst flu ever after getting the flu shot. Especially those that got the ones that were egg based.

Then do the insect based one... I like eggs

The new product, Flublok, which is available in limited supplies for the current season, is different from other flu vaccines, because it isn't made using eggs or an influenza virus, the Food and Drug Administration said Wednesday.
Instead, Flublok's production involves programming insect cells grown in steel tanks to produce large amounts of a particular flu virus protein, known as hemagglutinin, according to Protein Sciences, the vaccine's manufacturer.
Boltman, stop interfering with the natural order. Sooner or later the no vaccine people will die off. Let nature take it's course.

Is this offer nationwide? I like the comments, but not useful at all to get in on the deal.

Last fall, majority of the people who got flu got shots got flu. This happens every year but last year it was so bad that even the mainstream news were forced to cover that story.
This has destroyed whatever credibility FDA, CDC and vaccines makers had left. This year they are looking very desperate to convince everyone that how this time the vaccines will be more potent and for the correct strain of virus. This is BS folks. They are just desperate to make few billions more this year and unfortunately we have people like the OP who really believe in this failed medical model, used as a tool by pharmaceutical industrial complex.

Posting to SD is easy,
giving a link from a credible source
that supports your bs will be difficult.

I guess I was in the minority then, as well as ALL of the people that I work with that also got flu shots.

as a pharmacist there is so much wrong information in this thread.. the only vaccine that can give you the flu are the live ones ie flumist intranasal spray which we don't even stock at my pharmacy
And as a fellow pharmacist, I agree. But damn that's really cheap for a flu shot. Walgreens still charging some 32 bucks for one I believe, wallyworld doesn't make me give flu shots, so don't quote me on that.

Since you are taking conjecture and making it fact, I will take a small sample size and apply it as a universal truth.

There are 4 people in my household. 1 got the flu. The other 3 didn't. The 3 who didn't get the flu, got flu shots. The 1 (me) who didn't got very sick. Therefore, 100% of the people who got flu shots didn't get the flu and 100% of those that didn't get the shot got the flu. Incontrovertible proof supplied.

Don't peddle your fear mongering hear. This is the first time I have gotten the flu as an adult. It was bad. ER trips and everything. My wife has always felt that same, unscientific and unsubstantiated feeling, way about getting the shot and getting sick. Well she got the shot last year and didn't get sick despite being exposed to the flu.

So there. We have pure facts supporting why everyone needs a flu shot.

None of this is relevant. The flu shot isn't a guarantee that you won't, but it can certainly help. If you don't want a flu shot because you believe there is a grand conspiracy to make everyone sick, then don't get one. But since everyone is out to get you, you should stay inside your own home at all times so you will be safe. This is a slickdeal for those that want a flu shot.

We need more folks to get on the boards for TV deals and spout how it rots your brain and you shouldn't buy one.

go to your CVS/etc pharmacy and usually free with insurance, administered by a medical professional, not that it really matters much, pretty easy to administer (disclosure: I am a US medical student)

Go for the tetravalent ("quad") if you can find it, includes 4 strains instead of 3. Only in 20-25% of flu shots this year.

I always seem to come down with something after getting these shots annually.

But after being nearly hospitalized with the flu once, will get the shot.

Isn't there a preservative free version of it now?

Not true... most insurances don't cover the flu shot.

Quadvirulent is the vaccine you mention.... its in limited supply and therefore recommended for kids only by the CDC.

Its "extra" efficacy has not been proven and is mainly a way for companies to charge a premium cost for he shot to make extra profit

ALSO those of you who claim to get sick after the shot its very likely its the COLD not the FLU. If you had the FLU you would be bedridden for about a week or two. I know I had it once a long time ago it sucks. I literally had to think about going to the bathroom for a half an hour and roll onto the floor and crawl to it . No energy to do anything but lie there. Near death.

That is the FLU everything else is COLDS

The FLU shot is not 100% effective some do still get the FLU... just way less than those without

FWIW, my wife went to Target yesterday to pick up a prescription, and the pharmacist asked if she had gotten her flu shot. She scanned her insurance card and said the shot was free, so she got one. Might be worth a try. BTW, we do have a prescription copay.
