This is my first post so be nice please. I was looking for a small computer and found this Levnovo which i think its a good price considering is the 4th generation i5. The description is very vague but here is what is posted. There is a considerable lead time of 2-5 weeks.

If this desktop isn't what is described it'll be an easy return and probably a $10 credit per desktop I purchased as a promo for the mistake. Amazon is awesome with returns and fixing their errors.

I have seen some people say this would be good to use as a HTPC. I'm not very tech savy, but could I install a dual tuner and set this up as a DVR?

Well if you think about it a new Mac Mini (w/ i5), 4GB ram and 500GB HD is priced at $599 regularly. I'm assuming when they put a Haswell in it will be the same price. So, $369 ($230 difference) for a PC which is larger much larger than the Mac Mini and has much less demand shouldn't be much of a suprise.

Thanks, just bought this as a mini server. Hopefully this isn't a power consumption since I've read somewhere in this thread that this PC uses below 300 watts.

The i5 4440 and windows 8 cost $300 alone on newegg...

This pc has a better cpu (quad core vs dual), more ram, and bigger hd than the mac mini

As someone who has purchased a couple of these from Newegg, it does come with an i3, and you won't get the said 6GB of memory. You may not believe me, but trust them when they say no returns (it's as-is for a reason). Bullshit, yes but pretty cheap price nonetheless.
YE to the no-returns - been through that and lost ... BUT last time Amazon made a mistake like this with one of the computers I ordered they gave me a $50 gift card for the inconvenience .. so ... ordered one because I just need a MS Office computer for a second office in my office for my wife .. if the specs don't match up exactly - then I will simply call .. and will shoot for $100 gift card but settle for $50 ...

This would be good for HTPC, although the hard drive is kind of small. As for tuners, I use Ceton 4 tuner cablecard ($200 msrp) but they now have a 6 tuner cablecard for $300. Silicon dust and Hauppauge also have up to 3 tuner cablecards. You also have external network or usb options too. Lots of options.

I'm curious why anyone would need 6 tuners? Is there that much on TV at any one time that worthy of being DVRed? I'm assuming I'm missing something, and there is another reason to have 6 tuners.

Makes sense. I'd never have the time to watch them, but I can see skimming the highlights.
