Sorry this is my first post so I don't know what the heck I'm doing. Anyway these laptops just came out yesterday so this HAS to be a price mistake because at this price this laptop is a steal.

Why downvote this? I think the OP is right. It does look like a price mistake.

* HP is not liable for pricing errors. If you place an order for a product that was incorrectly priced, we will cancel your order and credit you for any charges. In the event that we inadvertently ship an order based on a pricing error, we will issue a revised invoice to you for the correct price and contact you to obtain your authorization for the additional charge, or assist you with return of the product. If the pricing error results in an overcharge to you, HP will credit your account for the amount overcharged.

the down votes are because apple fan boys just realized they can get this for half the price of a macbook pro...and they dont want to get their panties in a bunch...

this seems like a really good deal for the specs. these seems like a beast of a laptop.

Retail is always 2-3x more than regular sale. I think this should be around 800ish. So, not a mistake.

Not that I am suggesting people buy this simply because it's a price mistake, but I think you are forgetting the one time HP sent out $150 off coupons with no minimums to people after canceling due to a price mistake. I got a free monitor off of that deal Cool I think they learned their lesson, though.

Would love to see that enforced. That's an illegal policy for some points.

I feel like that's not the exact model mentioned in the OP.
It should be "F2Q28UT"
Here's a list of all of the different variations: http://shopping1.hp.com/is-bin/IN...FBktw4ZCyI
It does seem that the one listed by the OP is priced lower than the others even though it uses a faster Core i7 processor (versus the Core i5).

Absolutely false in this regard. This particular line, the 840/850, were released this week and are all Haswell based CPUs. This is indeed a pricing error, and should be +600 on the price. 100% a price mistake, and a major deal if they honor it.
