It may be cheaper but not good for your engine...shake head
r u saying costco gas is cheap and has worse quality?

i live in a poor area where local county tax is much cheaper. costcos mostly open at richer areas. so even after their savings, their gas + higher at rich area tax is always 10 cents or more than my poor locals.

Why does nothing like this exist for existing members?

I have a Costco Amex card.

I'm an "Executive" member. Yet I don't get anything executive about it--except that I get to pay $110 for membership.

$55 of my Amex rewards I use for the 2nd year renewal.

I'm re-thinking next year. Drop down to basic $55, or forget Costco all together. Though, I do like the Amex card.

Costco gas isn't really cheap(er) is it, when you factor in the membership cost?

I guess for some people the membership works

It is really hard to justify $110 or even $55 to pay for a "membership".

I'd rather use that for food, etc. now.

yeah. people said they save money on car rental. if it will save $50 compared to other rental places, i dont mind to pay $55 for it.

OK- I have never belonged to Costco. I am thinking about joining to get the gym membership. Is there any way to join, get the gym membership, cancel and get the $50 back? Just askin'

I REALLY don't want to belong to Costco. Love the company and concept but people I know that belong there come home with 100 rolls of paper towels and other wasteful stuff like that. Don't need it and don't want to be enticed to start hoarding.
I don't think you have to be a Costco member. I believe you can buy online. You have to pay some percentage extra.

However, one time I tried, if I recall. I used a old membership number, and I could purchase w/o the extra percentage cost.

I love Costco, but I mainly keep a membership to buy their gas, which is always 5-10 cents cheaper than anywhere else around me.
That's true for me too. Plus my Costco is nearby, like 3 miles.

That would be my main reason to keep a membership going, for the gas.

I don't have to drive far away. I don't have to play the buy grocery and get gas rewards game.
