I'm thinking that the 9" hd+ with a faster cpu and a bigger screen for $99 is the deal right now. These 7"ers will have to go down into the $60-something range or the larger ones go permanently out of stock before $70 is a good deal on the 7's.

Man, you guys are tough on some of these deals. This is a very capable tablet that for $70 will do a lot of useful things. I just got one a couple of weeks ago off eBay (brand new) for $95 shipped and I am really loving it. No, it's not as fast and sleek as my wife's 3rd gen iPad, but it's really a good deal at $70.

Agreed. I have an Nook HD that I bought used for $70 many months ago and its great.
$70 for a very good 7" tablet is incredible. I remember paying something like $250 for my Pandigital Novel a few years ago, and it was just a damn color ereader!

and at these cheap prices, I suggest getting a 7" tablet as well as a 9-10" tablet. They offer very different experiences. I have 8 tablets for me and the family, and I hate web browsing on the 7" tablets, but love reading on them. The kids use 10" tablets around the house for games and netflix. But when we go on road trips or to dr. appointments, they bring the 7" tablets for portability.

I have no need for another tablet, but I'm still tempted to pick up another Nook HD at this low price. I paid more than that for a couple large boxes of diapers yesterday!

These Nook tablets are the best deal on the planet (though I prefer the larger version as more of a general use tablet vs. the 7").

Absolutely! I am not a power user, but I have been waiting for a deal on the Nook HD this even beats the $79 deal last month on ebay. Personally, i haven't had a problem with 1 sale a day, so I am willing to take a chance. Of course the $99 deal is better for the HD+, but the 7" size is easier to handle as an e reader. In 4 1, thanks, OP!Smilie

I cancelled my HD order the last time and got an HD+. Absolutely worth it. I'm using the Nook HD+ so much already, can't believe I was living without this for so long.

Rooting works well, especially cyanogen.

There's no other capable tablet at this price. These Nooks are a steal at $70 if you are looking for a basic tablet -- great screen, good responsiveness, almost full access to everything on Google Play right out of the box.
