Could anyone share your experience with your data connection when porting to Sprint's mnvo? For me it looks like iccid which is supposed to be associated with LTE connection is still blocked by Sprint. Thanks for any input.

Sorry, we're out of stock.

When seeking advice on this phone do not take the advice of the user named greg4sprint he will give you bad information and is wrong 99.9% of the time you will have better luck listening to a stump in your back yard.

Here is how you port your Sprint number to Ting; get $25 free credit to pay your bill; and cancel Sprint service automatically :

1) Go to Ting using the $25 credit link.

2) Choose "Bring Yours" and then "Check your device's eligibility", key in a dummy ESN/MEID and your email address. You will then receive an email which confirms the device eligibility. Your Galaxy Victory's ESN/MEID won't work at this time because it's still in service.

3) You should use the same $25 credit link to port your Sprint number. You'll need to provide your Dummy ESN/MEID, Sprint phone number, account number, and your 6-digit password which you chose when you ordered the phone. If Sprint doesn't has your SSN, you can put 0000 instead of your real last 4 SSN. Some of us told Sprint staff their SSNs when they picked up the phones at store, so they have to provide Ting their last 4 SSNs to port out the Sprint number.

4) It usually takes 3-4 hours to port out. If the phone and phone number disappear from the Sprint account online, then number porting is complete. Sprint service is cancelled and you don't have to pay the full $57.

5) You can switch to the ESN/MEID of your Galaxy Victory online now. Sprint usually releases the ESN within 1 hour after porting is complete.
Go to Device Settings in Your Account, then Add Device, Bring Yours, Get Started , then Input your Victory ESN, and then choose "Swap one of my active Ting phone numbers to this device".

6) If you just want to cancel Sprint Service, then you don’t need to switch ESNs. You may go to your Ting Account, and then cancel account in Settings.
=================
- FYI: These phones come pre-activated.
- Call 1-855-319-4426 (SAYGO/Sprint As You Go Dept.) to cancel your service. Hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Central time) and Saturday - Sunday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Central time).
- If the agent says your account won't be canceled until end of the billing cycle, try the below method of requesting the bill to be prorated. If agent says they don't prorate, protest until they do.
- Your service is canceled when you don't see your phone/device details listed under your MySprint account anymore. Another method to check is to input your phone's ESIN number at checkesnfree.com and if it says "badESN" next to Sprint, it means your Sprint account is still active; a "cleanESN" status means your account is canceled on Sprint.
- Alternative method of canceling if above fails: port your Sprint number to another carrier. Popular choices are Ting, RingPlus ($8 to port number over), or PagePlus ($0 to port number).

PagePlusDirect.com Easy way to port your number is under the services tab.
http://www.exclusivecellular.com/...ation.html - Another PagePlus dealer
https://www.pagepluscellular.com/...on=1143196 - Official PagePlus port-in (also free)
I checked ringplus after initally opening and was given the cant do it, but after the port "your device will work on RingPllus".

I first called 1-888-211-4727 around 2pm, 1st rep told me would cancel at the end of the billing cycle 30 or 31 days from today, I asked if the bill would be prorated, he said they don't prorate, I protested but he insisted that they only cancel at the end of a billing cycle. I politely insisted I want it canceled as of today im not using the phone this month he said he just is cancellation department he will transfer to Pay as you go dept., transferred and gave details transferred again, on the 3rd rep decided hang up try the other number listed in the wiki.

called 855-319-4426 quite a bit longer hold time however took info came back after a short hold and said its canceled, I asked if its canceled as of today? Rep answered yes. I tried to call my sprint # a few times and while it did ring just previously its not now so I guess a success. My online account still showing the devise on the "as you go" plan and "new usage starts in 31 days" however it does say last updated at 1:16pm so perhaps the site does not update automatically, I will check online again later today, and possibly call back to check if I owe any money.

[update it took about 20min for the device to clear from my online account] however my phone number instantly stopped working after the rep confirmed canceled.]
same to same. Except, the rep told me it will be cancelled as of 11/24/2013. I said why do I have to wait for cancellation till then, he tells me I have to pay for 1 month billing, so I might as well wait till 11/24 before it cancels. Told him, I was told it should be prorated and that I shouldnt have to wait for 1 month and hence shouldnt have to pay for 1 month. he then tells me, ok, let me set that up for you and after a few minutes, says all done. Darn trying to get me to keep the service for a month..

After updated the system to 4.1.2, I rooted the phone following the instructions in this link:
http://theunlockr.com/2013/06/11/...te-sprint/

I then put the WifiTether on it following the instruction here, so hot spot is working on the phone now.

For those who are tech savvy and want to root, here it is. I was able to root and tether no problem. Some devs are also working on CM 10.1 and 10.2. This is getting better and better.

The chat reps are not versed in the pay as you go plans, which is why they give wildly different info. Theyre supposed to give you the pay as you go number for questions:
1-888-211-4727

Call that number, and the rep will confirm you keep the phone after you cancel service.
Results:
Tennis8363 - Cancelled, no money due and no need to return phone.

EmmEmm: attaching email chat with Sprint rep

for those who has a dummy ESN and ordered multiple victory phones

you can use the same dummy ESN to port multiple victory phones to Ting

just remember to deactivate the previous one and then port the next one

So, add the phone and pay the first months bill for $45, and cancel then you keep the phone with no penalty?

You can keep the phone. They just put your ESN on blacklist.

Requires switch & save so you have to bring a number to Spring for this to be valid.

They also have the iPhone 4 for $99.99.

I wonder how much google is paying them to give away these phones for free. Basically free dropbox for google to collect data.

So they are pretty much giving the phone away...just a bit inconvenient because you have to transfer your number?

I wonder if they have a requirement for line to be active for a certain period before switching?
Otherwise go get a $10 line somewhere and then switch, and cancel 1 month later. $99 + service for iPhone is a good deal, but problem is Sprint network and hardware probably sucks since you can't use it with anyone else.

I thought the iPhones can be unlocked for both Verizon and Sprint so that you can use the SIM card slot in it. Or is that for iPhone 5+ only?
