Last year walmart did a $75 gift card with the purchase of an iPad 2. They were guaranteed too if you were there in time. Every member of my group got one. Walmart gift cards are as good as cash in this house.
Ya there will be some deals, but don't expect extremely hot deals. Last year I bought the Ipod touch 5g got it $60 less than its regular price (plus tax). I would be willing to buy the Iphone 5c at the right price, but wont happen.
I cnt remember what year if it was 2011 or 2012 the weekly ad had ipod touch with $100GC wich ended on BF then offerd spend $100 or more and get a $50. The weekly add had a better deal. Sorry jst can't rememberwhat year eexactly
Would love to upgrade some old systems (ipad 2 and macbook pro 2008) via a shopping portal like Chase Ultimate Rewards, Fat Wallet or Aadvantage. Apple doesn't really do much on BF but sometimes shopping portals have good value. As a frequent flyer, I can stretch out miles pretty far. Bump if anyone sees any.
This isn't portal-related, but Target is offering "$200 (at least) toward a new iPad w/ trade in @ Target until Nov. 9"...

black friday used to meant something. now it's just a dumb day where everybody pretend to "sale" 1 fling stupid item as door buster to get the mass in and the deals actually aren't always as good as other holiday.
apple dgaf! about deals b/c why discount something that's already selling well. people going to buy it anyway by bother discount it much.
A lot of stores offer free gift cards with Apple products for Black Friday. I've already seen deals for the Apple TV like that. Not sure about other products. My mom is looking for an Apple TV, so I've been looking at that. Hoping Best Buy will do it because she had a BB gift card and reward points to use. Other than that Sams Club is supposed to have the 5c for 96 cents ( or something like that). Too bad I'm not up for an upgrade, although I'd rather get a good deal on a 32 GB
I can get some gift cards for Staples ($120 worth) from my Chase Freedom card points. I was thinking of perhaps using those to buy a iPad Mini Retina 32GB (although I'd really like a 64GB). I'd like to use a coupon as well since Staples has those 30% off coupons if you spend so much. Anyone have an opinion on this strategy?
I believe the 5% cash back bonus for online shopping counts in too, so you get to double up. Was a pleasant surprise when I bought a Mac and maxed out my 5% cash back bonus for the month in the process.
For those who can't get educational or corporate discounts from the Apple store, you could wait for Thanksgiving sales (typical 1 day) and buy from the Apple store online to get the Discover cash back portion I think, so that's something to look out for.
