My opinion having used both: If the lack of a camera and Play store access is not a concern, I would go with the Fire HD. It has a slightly better feel for the build quality and much more internal storage. The simplicity of the user interface is also a little more user friendly for young ones. Just double check that all the apps she expects (if any in particular) are available on the Amazon App store.
I own the Hisense and am really happy with it. That said, the Kindle probably has better build quality. Also, the microsd works great for storing music and movies but the only way to move apps/games to it is to root the tablet and use an app like FolderMount or App2SD. 8gb is still a fair amount since you can keep media on the microsd, and I doubt your daughter is going to be playing shooters like NOVA3 or Modern Combat 4 (which are about 2gb each), but it's something to keep in mind.
