Infinity Primus P363 Floorstanding Speaker for $107 each @ Fry's again from 10/25 - 10/31! B&M

http://www.frys.com/ads/page2#AdNavi

These speakers retail for $329.99 (sometimes $199.99) but are the best bang for your buck floorstanding/tower speakers below $350 MSRP that money can buy! However, make sure your receiver can handle the 4 ohm load since Harman has rated these speakers incorrectly in their specifications. Please see the following review:

So far it looks like Fry's website has not been updated with the correct pricing so I would drop by the store to pick them up if there is one close to you. I just returned my pair of Polk TSi500 and got me a set of these babies for less than half the price of the Polks!

Also just as reference, I was able to fit both speakers in the backseat of my Lexus IS250 Smilie

These regularly go on sale between 100-120 about once a month at frys.

I picked them up when they were at 97ea.

These are technically 4ohm but any decent 8ohm reciever can handle these.

I got these setup on a Denon x1000 and have 0 issue hitting pretty high levels

Comparing speakers at this price point can be somewhat of a challenge. Personally I like the 363s better. The 363s are a very efficient speaker.

Best thing to do would be go listen for yourself, I was originally leading towards Klipsch until I heard them in store and absolutely hated them (i understand these are polk but you get my point)

I believe the P363 is in the same tier as the Polk Monitor 70 and the TSi500 while the Monitor 60 and TSi400 is a tier lower.

I might have to call and find out if they'll ship these. I'm guessing they should.

Only let's you add 1 to cart stating it is limit 1 per household. that seems weird since you would want at least a pair. Also, you add 1 to cart and it says it is $329. Do you have to take it to checkout for the 107?

Great price I just wonder if it only a good deal if you have a frys near by

Pretty much. Shipping costs are high, the online price is still $329 all the way through checkout, and they have an idiotic "1 per household" policy in effect. I called my local Fry's to check stock, and the rep maintained that there was a one per household limit. What exactly are you going to do with one stereo tower speaker? Flip it on its side and use it as a center? Actually, that may not be the worst idea ever.

Anyway, once I went into the store there was no problem buying a pair. Glad I finally scored on this deal, after passing / missing out numerous times before.

FWIW, among many anecdotal comparisons online between these P363s and the Polk Monitor 70s that are currently $150 apiece through NewEgg, I can't find a single instance of someone saying they've owned both and prefer the Polks. Everyone with an opinion says the Infinitys are leagues better.

one of the guy on avs forum [avsforum.com] says this:

"I have the monitor 70s. sound great but the tweeters die, no its not just me and no im not over driving the speakers. its a known problem with the polk tweeter. they do have a 5 years warranty but after that 5 years your stuck paying 35 bucks per tweeter every time they die + shipping. so i vote for the infinity."

Not sure if he really got the infinities and made this statement... I am also looking for some audiophiles to comment on this...

from most of the posts on forums.. yea ppl say p363's are good.. or suggest listen yourself and decide...

I don't have any axe to grind against Polk, and am actually going to do just that and grab a pair of M70s to compare and return the loser. But Google "infinity p363 vs. polk monitor 70" and peruse those message board threads, and you'll see what I mean. I was rather stunned that it was so one-sided, given that the specs of the speakers are pretty interchangeable.

I agree.. i did search for posts doing that search since polk 60 was on sale.. and yes most of them just say p363 is best.. but no comparison chart from anyone..

When picking up these speakers, make sure you bring an SUV or a pickup because a sedan is not going to fit these huge speakers. It took 2 guys to carry each box so they don't strain themselves.

As for the speakers themselves, you would want to have a receiver that has a lot of juice to handle these 4-ohm speakers. If you have an amplifier then you're fine. For movies, you should have a center speaker for dialog.

I'm deciding between the Polk monitor 70's and the Infinity P363's. I heard the Infinity P363's are rated at 4ohm in reality and have been mislabelled on the Harman/Infinity website. I'm having some difficutly understanding if my receiver will work with the Infinity's. I currently have the yamaha rx-v373 and on the yamaha website (http://usa.yamaha.com/products/au...3_black_u/) under SPECs it says 8 ohm for rated power output, but I also noticed there's a spec under that "Dynamic Power per Channel (8/6/4/2 ohms) 110/130/160/180 W". Can someone help clarify if my rx-v373 will work with these speakers or do I have to get a new receiver?

Try calling Frys online and ask if they can PM their B&M store. I believe the regular in-store price is $107 each. Shipping cost might kill the deal for you guys as they weigh nearly 50 lbs each.

+1, the box is pretty big and heavy. It will be a big challenge fitting these bad boys on a compact sedan.
