Refurbished 'Famous Brand' (Debranded HP) Desktop PC (AMD A10-5700 3.4GHz, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB HDD, Radeon HD 7660D Graphics, Card Reader, USB 3.0, Win 8) $280, Free Shipping, Newegg
This is a great system for those who need an inexpensive system with decent graphics. It is similar in CPU performance to an i3 but comes with lower-midrange graphics that is faster than any other integrated graphics and is about equivalent to HD 6670.
Newegg apparently screwed up the item's name, but it is the best price I have seen on an A10-series PC.
I dont see anything about WiFI in the descrption on either Tigerdirect or Newegg but I bought one of these and it had WIFI.
Repped for the research.
I am actually quite familiar with that FP deal. But I wouldn't go as far as saying that it is the p7-1446s model specifically. You are absolutely correct about the mobo (the mobo's model number is clearly visible on the inside view). But there is no Wi-Fi (the PCI-e mini slot is empty on the same picture). If anything, it is most likely a stripped down HP Pavilion PC from the p7-1400z series.
See the attached picture for a clarification. And here are a couple of useful HP links:
If you don't know about PCI cards, you should just buy a mini mac instead.
What's with the debranded stuff? They take the logos off, like who cares is it supposed to tarnish the proud HP brand to have logos on a somewhat reasonably priced used computer? Oh how the mighty have fallen...
If you don't about $3 DVI to HDMI adapters on ebay, you should just buy a mac mini instead. I'm serious. People that have no technical experience at all and don't want to bother to learn anything about desktops should just buy something already just as they want it to be regardless of price. And I didn't mean you Dayv.
Most likely, the PC does not output audio through HDMI. That may be a concern for those who want a single-cable solution for both audio and video.
With that said, I completely disagree with the previous user who said "no HDMI kills it". Obviously, it may lose appeal to the single-cable HTPC crowd, but it certainly does not kill the deal for anyone else. Not at this price.
