Newegg.com has DIAMOND ATI Theater HD 750 USB TVW750USB [newegg.com] USB TV Tuner for only $19.99 after $20 rebate.

This is the lowest price I have ever seen on this particular item. According to the reviews beware that the rebate is slow, but for $20 I figured I would splurge, and be patient. I currently have had the TV Wonder USB 600 for about 5 years now and it is very good, so I figured I would order this one as an upgrade.

USB TV Tuners are perfect for Laptop or Desktop PC's to give you full HD over-the-air broadcasts, or you could plug your Cable TV Directly into the TV tuner so that you can watch and record live TV on your PC through Windows Media Center.

Great for watching football instead of horrible online virus-ridden streaming sites!! Wink Wink

Not too bad. They had one or two "free after rebate" TV adapters a couple of months ago from NewEgg as well, and those are working great for me for OTA broadcasts.

good price.

i really wish they would make one of these and just pass thru hdmi so i can connect a uverse box and show tv in HD on a window on my 2nd monitor. Hauppauge colossus i think does this but its overkill.

Doing a little research and coming up short. Can anyone chime in as to whether this can easily be set up on XBMC (specifically Raspbmc for the RPi)?

You are more than entitled to pass, but 90 days for rebates I think is pretty standard. I guess when it is written as 12 weeks it seems like a lot longer to some people... nod

I guess I live in BFE, because I am in an OTA dead spot. Both the FCC map [fcc.gov] and my own experience reflects this.

I am looking for a SRD [wikipedia.org]that is a little better quality than the generic, prone to overheating USB sticks, but a don't have the patience to wait that long for a rebate without going more crazy.

I have owned 10+ TV tuners in my life and USB ones always fall short. They are only good if you are using it outside your home. If you are using it inside the house I would get a single tuner HDHomeRun for $25 off ebay. Since it is just hooked up to the network it creates a much smaller load on a slower computer like a laptop.

Amazon reviews look decent [amazon.com]. Not surprised at the 90 day rebate time - even Newegg's own rebates took almost 4 months or so last time for me to get back.

Thanks for the heads up, but I think I'll wait for BF to come along. I know Fry's et all will have them for FAR.

Diamond TV Wonder HD 750 USB is listed as unsupported.

Someone seems to be hacking together a userspace driver: https://github.com/roysjosh/tvw-sdr

I would stay away.

Pardon my ignorance, but can you elaborate on the product that you're estimating sells for $25 on eBay? My quick search lead me to much higher priced products--I don't see any single tuners. Thanks.

After two failed Diamond rebates in a year, I say not no, but hell no.

This deal sort of came back again except it's a few more dollars now.

NEWEGG ~ $23>>http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...019&cm_sp=
This time it's 21.99 + 0.99 shipping = 22.99 AR (Rebate is $15) [so pay around $38 up front].

Alternatively at AMAZON ~$24.95>>http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/...e=UTF8&me=
Clip on coupon is $10 off (so no rebate) and you get it for $24.95
34.95 +add filler to get free shipping ($10 is deducted and I think you still get free shipping)

But does anyone know if this USB HDTV tuner card is any good, or is it best to pass and go for some other brand USB HDTV tuner card?? (I'm thinking of going for Amazon deal if anyone else thinks this is worth it). The overheating problems in reviews is the only thing stopping me....

Anyone know anything about this item? (I took a chance and purchased this--just expecting to watch 1-2 hrs hdtv at a time on a laptop; not too much longer.)

This deal sort of came back again except it's a few more dollars now.

NEWEGG ~ $23>>http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...019&cm_sp=
This time it's 21.99 + 0.99 shipping = 22.98 AR (Rebate is $15) [so pay around $38 up front].

Alternatively at AMAZON ~$24.95>>http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/...e=UTF8&me=
Clip on coupon is $10 off (so no rebate) and you get it for $24.95
34.95 +add filler($1 Pens) to get free shipping ($10 is deducted & you still get free shipping)

I purchased this deal on 6-5-14, & chose Amazon to avoid the rebates & paid around $27+ after taxes.
Clip on coupon may be hard to find or see but its there at bottom of screen under promotions........
