I bought the Emerson tv from Walmart Thanksgiving deal 2 years ago, it stopped working in less than 6 months & the manufacture were only willing to replace it with a refurbished or send to their selected local repair shop near you, I choose the refurbished option due to where I live is a very small town, it's not so much of a good deal in the end for me!
I had the same TV and bought it 2 years ago it died in the first year and cost to much to fix
if you're looking for nextgen gaming this will be fine. Keep in mind these games are already having trouble maintaining 60fps. It's very unlikely you'll be seeing console games go above. this is probably a horrible option to use as a monitor
I'm game for a purchase, will replace/craigslist my 40'' westinghouse.
I remember the deal was good last year as well, but at my local Target they had a ton of them in stock. Went in when it was opening and they had a lot, went about 8 hours later and they still had a decent amount. Either they had a lot of stock, or no one wanted it.
That's not going to happen with this TV, it will be gone in 25 seconds.

is element even a good brand .. id assume not at 229 for a 50 inch.
It's not a good brand. Walmart sells them and the reviews suck. But for the money....
