If you can't afford a $350 dollar phone, why would you buy it?
And my guess is that it's locked to T-Mo until you pay it off.
Additionally, didn't they mess with the phone last time like adding T-Mo apps, etc, making it not the pure nexus all these people were looking to get (not that I care, I find it too boring anyway).
Also, if anyone can pay anything off within a year, you can easily get %0 financing on your credit card if you call and ask, but like he said, if you need financing and have to pay $100 difference, why bother?
If it was just $50 difference, I would consider just for the pleasure of being able to pick up immediately in store and also have a place where I can return it, otherwise it's a bad deal.
