Hello, I hope you are doing well.

Introduction
I spent a couple days researching for and writing up this deal thread, and will continue to update it accordingly. Please feel free to ask questions and provide any relevant information. Terms and conditions are available in the first reply of this thread. Thank you.

General information about Isis [paywithisis.com]

The Deal
•Earn 20% cash back on all in-person purchases, with a maximum earning of $200 (i.e., the first $1,000 you spend will get you $200 in cashback).

Eligibility and Requirements
•You must be a T-Mobile, AT&T, or Verizon customer and obtain a free Enhanced SIM card from your service provider.
•You must have one of the eligible Android phones (list of eligible phones [paywithisis.com]).
•You must use Isis [paywithisis.com] - a free app to make payments - and Serve [serve.com] - an American Express prepaid credit card program. (Serve usually costs $1 per month, but linking Isis with your Serve account waives that $1 fee.)
•You must shop at one of the stores that allow payments using Isis. (store locator [paywithisis.com])
•The promotion period runs from November 14, 2013 through January 31, 2014 February 28, 2014 (this promotion has been extended!).

ISIS Mobile Wallet - Verizon Wireless [verizonwireless.com]: Get up to a $200 credit when you tap to pay with an American Express Serve® Account in the Isis Mobile Wallet.

2) Get an ISIS chip from your mobile service provider.
3) Sign up for Serve here [serve.com].
4) When the Serve card arrives via postal mail, activate your account.
4b) While waiting for the card, you can call Serve and have them do a partial activation of your account - enough to add funds or a backup funding source - so you can partake in this deal immediately.
5) Add up to $1,000 from a credit card to the Serve card.
6) Purchase products using ISIS (not the Serve card), in person, at one of the eligible retailers [paywithisis.com]. The purchases can be completed over multiple transactions over multiple days.

Promo period has been extended to FEBRUARY 28, 2014.
Still a maximum of $200 credit per Serve account.

NOTE: Some phones (like the Galaxy S4) REQUIRE that you have the OEM BATTERY in when you use NFC, so ISIS will not work if you have a 3rd party battery. This may be the source of many failures, as it seems to be a largely unknown requirement.

Also you can use AmexSync offers with Serve now, so even more extra cash back Smilie Lowe's, Best Buy etc all have current sync offers. -Thx WinDroidGuy

*Informed by AT&T that ISIS will not activate when using any prepaid service like Gophone, ONLY postpaid
Confirmed working on T-Mobile prepaid service. Needs data service only to activate and add cards.

Installed Isis and it told me that my phone is rooted, ISIS is not supported FYI

Terms and Conditions

Receive a statement credit to your American Express Serve Account equal to 20% of the value of each contactless payment transaction made from November 14, 2013 through February 28, 2014 using your eligible American Express Serve Card in the Isis Mobile Wallet at locations where American Express contactless payments are accepted. Limit of $200 US in total statement credits per American Express Serve Account in connection with this offer. Transactions made using a plastic American Express Serve Card are not eligible for the 20% credit. American Express Serve Cards issued to holders of subaccounts are not eligible for this offer and such cards cannot be added to the Isis Mobile Wallet. Statement credit will normally be applied to your American Express Serve Account promptly after your eligible purchase transaction clears, but could take up to thirty (30) days. Statement credit may be reversed if a qualifying transaction is reversed or cancelled. Offer subject to change or cancellation at any time.

* Verizon Wireless customers that sign up for a new American Express Serve® Account through the Isis Mobile Wallet® will get a $50 Serve Account credit through January 6, 2014.*: http://www.verizonwireless.com/wc.../isis.html
(I took advantage of this and received $50 in my Serve account instantly.)

* Many questions are being asked as to how loading Serve with funds work
1- Link a credit card to Serve and load your Serve account with $200 per day until you reach the $1,000 need to receive the maximum $200 allowed under this promotion
2- Link your Serve to a bank account and load the account with $1,000
3- Use reload cards like Vanilla or MoneyPak
4- Go to CVS/ 7-Eleven and load your Serve account with cash.

Under option 1, maximum load amount is $200 per day and $1,000 per month
Under option 2 through 4, you can load all the $1,000 needed in one transaction.
_________________________________

**Please note that you do NOT have to "load" Serve with funds in order to make purchases with the ISIS Mobile Wallet.

Purchases can be made using the backup funding source you can add through Serve account setup.
Works sort of like PayPal.
You can make all the same sort of purchases with backup funding source as you can with "load". (all purchases, including gift cards, bill payment, direct payee payment, etc.).

Credit card that doesn't charge cash advance fee when loading SERVE:
Chase Freedom
Amex Costco (Have used it as the backup funding source and haven't seen anything additional charged)

Regarding my one remaining question from last night (above) to which I did no yet receive a reply:

Do I need to sign up for the 'American Express Serve' card or the 'American Express Serve with ISIS' Card?
There are two versions to choose from https://www.serve.com/?intlink=us...h-benefits.
I believe the correct one is, ironically, the first one without 'ISIS' written on the Serve card?

thanks again for all the helpful replies so far!
When I applied for the Serve Card through ISIS, they sent me the "Serve with ISIS" card. Just follow the process so that you can get the 20% cashback.

If you know another person who already has an activated serve account they can send you money to your serve. More than 500 too. I had to do this for my brother just yesterday.

And did you go through the verification link in the email Amex sent you after signing up for a serve account? I assume so since I don't think you can log into your account online without doing so.
So in case I understand, did you have a virtual ISIS card or a temporary card from CVS? I have someone who can send me the money from Serve (I believe that sending money from Bluebird will work too just in case anyone wants to know.). Then I have them send me the $1000 and that will work without a physical card?

No.

Load your ISIS Serve card with money from credit or debit card.

Buy Temporary Serve card from CVS with the ISIS Serve card.

Call the serve support number that is listed at the back of the Temporary Serve card and ask for a check refund. If they ask for a reason, just say you already have another serve account.

Check arrives in 7 to 10 business day.
Just know, not all locations sell the Temporary AMEX Serve card.

I don't see two different account types on the serve website, but your best bet would be to sign up for the Serve account from ISIS app to get the TMo/ATT/VZW credit...

Within the ISIS App, you can do that by going to the 'Add Card' or 'Add Funds' and then sign up for serve from there..

Thank you both for the helpful info.
I'll sign up for Serve via ISIS.

Ok, is there an error that you get? or is the app not available for you on google play store?

If it is not available on the play store, did you try something like 'Market Enabler'...

If you still can't get it to work, send me a PM and I can send you a link to my backed up ISIS apk (TMo S4)

Okay, I am almost there (see issue in bold):.

1. Purchased temporary Serve card from CVS and added my funds on there right at the store.

2. I set up the Serve account online and linked it to the temporary card.

3. I created an ISIS account.

4. Activated NFC on phone (had disabled it).

5. My problem is with linking my temporary Serve card to my ISIS account:

When I click on 'add account' within the ISIS app, I get redirected to the Serve website.
I successfully log in to Serve on the phone's browser.
However, since I have not received my permanent card, I can't 'activate' the permanent card.
I assume I need to call in to do a partial activation so that the Serve linking to ISIS can take place???

I get stuck in a loop since ISIS, as a result, is not seeing my Serve card...

How did others get around this annoying loop without having the permanent card yet (takes 7 - 10 days to receive).
I thought I read something about partial activation over the phone?

Thanks!

Hopefully someone can clarify.

(first time it did not like my security question answer even though I typed it in correctly - I changed it to a different format - less words - and that worked)
On phone with Serve support now.
They are telling me I was supposed to sign up for Serve through ISIS... Mad

Edit 2 - I see the OP's Serve link had an ISIS referral at the end of the URL.
Guess one of the follow-up posts someone made, trying to help me, did not include the referral link...

Looks like I am screwed, but phone support is trying to see if the temp Serve card can still be linked to ISIS after signing up from Serve.com WITHOUT the ISIS referral link.
If there is a trick I am missing, let me know.

Edit 3: Serve rep is connecting me with ISIS support since she said I SHOULD be able to link my temporary card to my ISIS account.

That is BS....

I believe this has worked for people with existing Serve accounts as well.., just that they wouldn't have gotten the additional Carrier specific bonus (TMo-$25, ATT-$50, VZW-$40)

Thanks.
See my Edit 3 above (must have crossed your update).

In short, the Serve support rep corrected herself after consulting with colleagues / IT support (see my Edit 3 above from earlier) and said it should be possible.

She gave me the extra mobile provider credit (already showing up in my Serve account).
Then she transferred me to ISIS Support
.
Bottom line is that I was still logged into Serve on my other computer.
I logged off Serve on my computer (forgot I was even logged in) and then after one (or at most two) more tries via my mobile browser, I was able to successfully add my Serve card to ISIS.
I just received the Serve e-mail (took 7 mins or so) confirming that my Serve card is linked to ISIS.

Off to do shopping now. Smilie

THANKS AGAIN to the OP for this deal and all those who helped.

Steps I performed:
1) Bought temp Serve card from CVS and loaded it up with $xxx.

2) Registered for Serve online, being sure to link the temp Serve card to my Serve account by selecting Yes to "did you purchase a temp card" (don't quote me on exact wording) and entering my temp card details (as prompted).

3). Signed up for ISIS on mobile phone (already downloaded app earlier)

4) Made sure to turn on NFC in order for actual purchases to work (not needed right now but so you don't have to do it in the store when waiting on line to pay for purchases using ISIS Walet)

5) Linked Serve to ISIS using the 'add a card' (as someone had noted.
BE SURE YOU ARE NOT ALREADY LOGGED ONTO SERVE ON ANOTHER BROWSER, OTHER TAB OR OTHER COMPUTER or this 'adding card' will not work and will end up being frustrating.

Step 5 was my only issue. I forgot I was already logged onto Serve on my computer (from when I registered an hour earlier). There was no warning to check for this and no error message, but the helpful ISIS rep asked me if I was logged in elsewhere which jogged my memory.
