If I was happy with my PS4, I certainly wouldn't be wasting my time on Amazon writing a review the day it arrived. Now if it was broken I'd have all the time in the world to make a fuss online. See how easily that could skew the reviews?
Not saying it's not a problem, and it's good to be aware of it, but people sure are jumping to conclusions without a lot of data.
Still hoping to get one soon and find out for myself. Even if I get one that's DOA, I'm sure they'll make it right. Don't know why people are getting their panties in a bunch over it...

I really do appreciate your reps!

The one that I got from Amazon today seems to be working just fine. PSN has been giving me some trouble but right now I am downloading my digital copy of COD ghosts on it.
Oh.. don't get me wrong.. I still got one from Amazon... I'm just saying it's a HUGE risk to buy from a reseller.. (If SONY doesn't honor where you got it from.. Which they should... Because they're the only maker of the product... But idk...)
it looks like Amazon has the most complains regarding broken/doa PS4. What if Amazon got a bad batch. haven't seen anyone from BB for example complaining about their purchase. even on this forum I've seen ppl complaining after they got their console from amazon but nobody mentioned other store
Wow, several Amazon Verified Purchasers claiming they received DOA PS4's. That seriously sucks and makes me not feel so bad about canceling the launch system preorder I was going to resell.
Yeah there does seem to be a large number of those - definitely not trolls as they are all verified purchases. I bet in the next few weeks there will be a news release as to the exact cause of the problem, and I do think it could be a troublesome, more widespread issue than the magic .4% number. My guess is a faulty HDMI solder. Just not sure how they all got past QA testing - certainly they must test a healthy number of consoles as they come off the line. I wonder if they focused too much on ramping up production and let QA slip.
