Is this the best offer for this card? No.

- I personally got $350 when signed up, but that only lasted 2 days.
- $200 is pretty good, but $250 and $300 was offered in the past (late 2011, early 2012)
- Just sharing this so you know there could be better offer since you can only get this card bonus once in lifetime.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a couple of points, feel free to correct if I am wrong:

1) If you have recently applied for this card with sign up bonus of $100, you can write a secure message to chase and Chase will honor the current deal. I was told by Chase that Chase will honor any current deal for up to 90 days. So, if you applied for this Freedom Card within the last 3 months, you have a high probability of Chase matching the current promo. But still YMMV.

2) Most of the Chase signup promos are only one time per person for the life time. So, if you have already got the Freedom visa card with sign up bonus and even if you have canceled the card, your chances of getting the sign-up bonus again is close to 0%. But your chances improve if you have a Freedom Master card and now applying for the Freedom Visa Card, but still YMMV!

3) For new folks approved for the card, just don't cancel the card immediately after getting the sign up bonus since this is a card worth keeping. It does'nt have any annual fee and the 5% rotating bonus is good if not the best. Also, you will not be getting the bonus again with chase even if you cancel the card and reapply.

If you have had an existing credit card for 8 months you should be able to get it. If the 8 months is a student loan or similar, maybe/maybe not.

Not a bad deal at all. Unfortunately I opened 3 new credit cards very recently and one of them was Chase so no chance of getting approved (already have several other Chase cards)...

Still TU and repped!

Yes, you could still qualify. I had a Freedom card in my own name and was able to talk Chase into opening a second account for me so that I could get the $400 bonus they offered a year or so back. I did have to call, though; they wouldn't have automatically approved me.

The rep had a list of reasons they couldn't approve me, but I had valid retorts/workarounds to offer for all of her reasons, and in the end I was successful.

If they ask why you need two Freedom cards, tell them you travel for work and like to keep business and pleasure separate. Another valid reason is if you occasionally exceed the $1500 per quarter maximum on 5% cash back.

If they say they can't offer you any more credit, ask to have credit moved from one of your existing Chase cards (if applicable). You can always shift your credit lines around between accounts.

Good luck everybody!
