Straighttalk service in Puerto Rico

Anybody use Straight talk service in Puerto Rico? I will be visiting PR in a few weeks and I am thinking of getting prepaid over there in case ST does not work. I looked on their website and it says No but when I call to verify they say Yes it should work there. I am confused- long shot but any PR natives here who use ST?

It would depend on which carrier your SIM is tied to. Straight Talk buys service from several different carriers (ATT, Sprint, TMO, etc) so the ability to use your current sim/phone in PR would depend on that carriers service. I believe ATT has good coverage in PR dont know about the others.

Ok I just got back from Walmart in Ponce Puerto Rico.

They do sell the service here so my guess would be that it should work.

Also here we have all the major cell phone companies except Virgin I think.

Just got back from PR- can confirm above statements. My ST service (AT&T sim) worked very well. Thanks to everyone for chiming in with info.
