I saw on a website that the $479.99 deal was done yesterday 11/24. I would like to purchase this item at the $479.99 price but since they started their deals on Sunday I was afraid it has passed...do you know anything about this?

According to Camelx3, the price has not gone below $728 and if you read my other post, Amazon rep confirmed "It's sometime between now and Friday"

So do you think this same logic can be applied to the BB Black Friday deal for the Vizio 50" 1080p 240Hz LED Smart 3D HDTV (M501D-A2R) $599.99?

If I go and buy it today from BB and then have Discover price match it on Black Friday, will that work?
I would say yes (especially since that's what I did Saturday with the 55"). A number of CSRs have told myself and others that Discover will price match BF prices. If you look at discover's price protection page there's a list of things that aren't covered, but BF items aren't one of them.

Couldn't someone just photoshop a screen shot of any price they want? How would discover know if it's real or fake?
That's an idea. I, however, don't have Photoshop, nor do I know how to use it. But I'd figure since they'll be getting other (legit) screenshots at that price, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Although I suppose they might look to make sure the time frame matches up (I was told the screen shot has to include a time and date to show that your initial purchase was made before the cheaper product was made available).

What do you think the odds are of snagging one of these if I'm at my computer ready to go at midnight? This is a killer deal, but I don't wanna get beat out for it and not be in line somewhere as a backup...
Slimmest to none, hardly anybody gets the Amazon great prices. Good Luck.

How many SDers are in for 1 of these? I am in for 2 and counting on Discover Price Protection.

How many SDers do we have trying to get this screenshot and post it? I am on it, but this is going to need to be a communal effort in order to succeed.

Part of my chat with Discover Rep regarding the price protection

Me: at 12:44:38
If the item were sold through amazon, what would I show? A screen shot? Or would I get a rep to verify the sales price?
Jason: at 12:46:01
You would need to provide proof of lower-priced item, which can include copy of the lower-priced item ad or a signed statement by the store manager on store stationary documenting the details of the lower-priced item. If you have any more specific questions about what could be provided, for the coverage, I would have to suggest speaking with a claims specialist to be sure, please call 1-800-DISCOVER

LMAO "signed statement by the store manager on store stationary" LMAO Yeah, I'm sure the manager at BBY is going to write a letter on behalf of the company so that you can purchase a product somewhere else.

This is what keeps from buying Vizio, I've read so many of concerning reviews when I was doing research for it (for the walmart 60 deal). The screen quite working within a month for a shit tons of people. The price is attractive, but I'd hate to deal with all those non-sense.
The screen panel issue was on the E601i-A3. The A3 denotes what ODM makes the tv for VIZIO. This E550i-A0 is made by a completely different ODM. VIZIO replaced all of the TV's that had the panel issue. To top it off the E601i-A3 has been the number one selling TV in the US since it debuted.

hi,
Does somebody know where the LCD panel in this TV is from?
Is it a LG Display panel?

Cheers,
David

Three questions: 1. Does this have free shipping without prime? or #2. Does this have free shipping with prime? #3 Does this have tax in California?
Young grasshopper - if you are going to be an SD addict, just get Prime. Honestly, it pays for itself...

it's been almost a year since people first started posting about the panel issues on Amazon and other sites, seems to me that as you said Vizio would have worked through all the bad panels by now so all the tv's being sold now should not have the problem. I don't know why other people aren't thinking about this..

Im in for 2 and picked them up at BB. Counting on myself and other slickdealers to snag and post the amazon screenshot when it appears. Who else is in?

ps - for discover price protection of course! Happy slickdealing!
I'm thinking about this as well. Only difference will be having to eat the taxes with BB.

This sounds like a good way to get hit with fraud charges. This isn't Discover honoring it, it's their insurance company that does this promotion and reviews it. There will be several submissions from Amazon screen shots, so when yours doesn't match up perfectly like theirs will, you will likely be denied.

What do we do if Best Buy doesnt redeem the price match on black friday? I want to order from BB and avoid the $33.99 shipping from amazon. Since they do not do price match, what do we do if it sells out on Friday?
If you order from BB you are paying tax which will come in close if not the same as the shipping.

I wish Amazon had these in stock fulfilled by them so you could get the price match later. However, it's only 3rd party sellers so, no go on that. Ff you have to return it you have to deal with shipping. With that being said I went ahead and jumped on this through BB.

Product Total: $729.99
Sales Tax: $58.40
Order Total: $788.39

$729 x 10% cash back with Discover = $73

Price match after release so it should play out hopefully like this:

$479.99 TV
$58.40 tax
-$73 cash back
----------------------
$465.39
