I was able to snag the Chicago Electric 12" slider for $123.99 using coupon 75488992. They are shipping everything even bulk for $6.99. All in after tax i will get the saw for $141.xx shipped to my door. This makes me happy as HF isnt close or in the most comfortable part of town.

And the HF car jacks might land you in the morgue.

Remember to use car jack stands and not just the jack especially when you want to avoid some terrible outcome for the car, or you, or worse "both".

This is true for any car jack based operation and not just HF. Smilie

If I'm just going to be using this for Trim like crown molding, base etc should I just get the 10" ?
I wouldn't use this for crown molding, unless you want to use a lot of caulking to cover up inaccurate / misaligned joints.

Unless your are using really wide molding (4 inches or wider), you could use a non-slider base model sold in HD or Lowes. They are typically under $100 and lot more accurate than HF miter saws.

Any reviews of people that purchased this?

How has it held up and how is the accuracy?

Can someone suggest other brands that are in the below $200 range? I'm looking for a 10" -12" sliding miter saw. Double bevel is a plus but not necessary

I own a previous model of this saw, basically the same thing minus the laser. I've used it for building a deck for a shed, framing walls, trim on a bar, crown molding, and lots of other misc projects over the past year or so.

The blade they come with is junk (should be a given with HF tools). I think the complaints about the miter/bevel being off did not calibrate/zero their saw out. You MUST check your fence, bevel and miter before using the saw. You can zero out the bevel/miter indicator (I checked the manual for this saw and it is in the manual on page 14-15). This only needs to be done every once in a while and only takes a few minutes and a square.

This needs to be done on every saw, regardless of brand so I'm not sure why that would turn people off from them. Even with the slider this saw has stayed true for a long time without any adjustments. I would highly suggest bolting these to your bench or at least clamping them down as they are fairly light and the sliding action can sometimes tip it.

My biggest complaint is the fence isn't very tall and cannot be used to cut tall crown molding up on end. You can lay it flat and find the angles to cut it flat online though.
