So don't sign for it until its plugged in and checked out that nothing is wrong? Is this what you/everyone suggest?

TV arrived and I don't see any issues. Dell Support Specialist called before my TV shipped to make sure the shipping process was smooth. I asked him again about the $300 GC and he said I would get it within 10 days. I was a little worried at first because the front of the box ripped but not all the way to the inside of the box. Played some movies and TV shows and I don't see any abnormal bands. Satisfied with my purchase. Smilie

Mine came today. I'm not going to be using it until early January but after reading about OhioState's ordeal, I plugged it in to make sure that the picture/sound was ok. Worked great - excited to start using this bad boy.

OhioState - good luck, let us know how it goes. Either Dell or Samsung should be able to help if you push them hard enough. Did you buy it with a credit card that offers any type of purchase protection? That might be another route.

I'm sorry to hear about some of the issues people are having with getting this TV delivered. I should be getting mine tomorrow afternoon (Pilot said to be home between noon and 5pm but I can't get home until 1:30 so hopefully that'll be ok). I already missed a delivery on Monday when they called to say they were at my apartment out of the blue, I was surprised because I was at work. I'd pick it up myself from the Pilot warehouse but there's no way this box or the TV without the box will fit in my tiny Prius.

As far as the gift card. I'm on Dell chat with a dude right now. Here's what he said:

Agent Manoj_Kumar12 : I have checked the details and can see that the order is eligible for a $300.00 Gift card. It will be sent via email in 10-20 days from the order Invoice date.

So it'll come by email apparently. Fingers crossed..

terrible customer service by Samsung & dell, I hope dell won't charge for return shipping, on the side note, I just verified the purchase protection on my Amex, it says max of $300 per occurrence and $1000 per calendar year and you need to ship the item to them.

After Samsung told me my TV damage is not covered under warranty, I contacted Dell again and went through the same crap. They offered a refund. I explained that I cannot replicate this deal and demanded the same model or a similar 55" Samsung Smart TV... after pleading my case, they FINALLY BUDGED!!! They agreed to send me a 55" Samsung 3D Smart TV since this one is sold out and they do not foresee stock anytime soon. I spent 5 hours on the phone today... literally. I am exhausted... but I got my way (as I always do Smilie ).

Same boat here. Whats more annoying is that I have received two calls from Pilot. One was automated ,asking me to schedule delivery online. and the second one I could not pickup, no voicemail. Calling Pilot is useless, as they have no delivery scheduled for me , but dont know why they called me. I am avoiding calling dell - thats gonna be my last resort.

Update: Looks like they updated the tracking info wrongly. I had another item in the list on dell's website with a tracking number but no carrier. I thought this was the advantage card. Apparently this tracking number was the one for pilot. called and scheduled delivery for tomorrow.

I have an update. I had picked the TV up from Pilot at their local facility last week on Friday. So last night I received a call from Dell around 9PM EST. They were calling to make sure the TV was delivered and that everything was okay with it.

The interesting part was the representative on the phone brought up the $300 gift card before I could even ask about it, saying the same thing we've been hearing about the 10-20 days. I also haven't had any mention of the gift card on any of the emails I've received so far from dell. I don't think anyone else has mentioned getting a call like this from dell right? Anyway keep a lookout for a call from them, they'll probably be calling soon.
