Just got in on the $4/mo Unlimited NewsDemon deal! Seems to be the cheapest ever. Hope throttling and takedowns won't be a huge problem. The price is now $5 for anyone interested.

After signing up, they offer 30 days of free VPN Service and it's $3/mo after if you choose to keep it. I've never used a VPN service and hardly know a thing about it. Do you really need it to stay safe if all you're doing is downloading and not uploading? Or do people typically use it for other purposes? Does your Internet and download speed change at all when you are using this service? Any drawbacks of giving this free offer a try or is it easy to just cancel if you don't want to continue using it so that you don't get charged?

For what its worth, I think the maximumusenet site is owned by the same guys who own newsdemon, so I would think maximumusenet would be just as reputable as newsdemon.

Any black friday deals on EU servers with no takedowns?

I would just like to use one provider and not have to use a primary and then block for secondary (plus i don't know how to actually set that up).

Thanks!

Newsdemon is $5 now, worth a try, thanks. Not getting up this early without buying something on BF.

I got the $4/month frugal special. Also bought the 100gb block from blocknews as a backup.

Already has a 1TB block from newgroupdirect so wanted a non-highwinds reseller as my primary. I used to have frugalusenet and did not have any issues previously.

I bought 500GB from blocknews and added it to my 200GB account from last year - typically if thundernews doesn't have the fill, blocknews does fulfill most of the time.

Contact the guys at blocknews if you want to buy more than 100GB for 4.99, they'll stack it for you.

That's redundant.. blocknews and frugalnet are on the same backbone, you're just wasting money buying it that way. Would be worth it more to buy blocknews and thundernews/newsdemon/maximus as they are both on different backbones.

I had newsdemon at 5/mo for a while but early this year I gave up on them because of all the takedowns. Couldnt get something within a few hours of it being posted.

Is it better now? I'm using tweaknews which has been very good but its pretty slow. I'm not sure if thats my isp but it wasnt this slow with other providers.

I think the purpose he did that is Frugal has 300 days retention (though in reality they seem to have more) so the 100Gb backup is for stuff older than that

Too bad there weren't any neatherlands based backbone offers.
