Be aware everybody that Zero-G Slim monitor lacks true backlight control. Not being able to dim the backlight properly means severely crushed contrast ratios, high energy consumption and even relatively high heat output.

On default brightness this screen looks really nice, however, its not really usable for longer period of time, since it's way to bright! And after lowering the brightness in OSD it just crushes the contrast significantly.
Also, light bleeding is very severe.
I had to replace this monitor with Dell U2713HM, what a difference!

Here is a very good review about this monitor http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/revie...zero-g.htm

HEADS UP BANK OF AMERICA CARD HOLDERS
I'm not sure if it's for everyone but Bank of America has Monoprice listed as one of the places you can get cashback from, it shows 10% for purchases made. You have to "ACTIVATE" The deal before making the purchase I believe.

Added a picture, according to my BofA it's 15% so YMMV...

I've been waiting for a nice cheap 1440p monitor. I was looking at an X-Star for $280 + square trade warranty totaling $320. This would have the monoprice dead pixel warranty with their 5 pixel thing, but would Rakuten also let you return it over one dead pixel or what?

looks like decent price, unfortunately, not valid in TEXAS
"Can't ship to TX address"... dont know what other states are excluded but op should update title to indicate at least TEXAS is excluded for some unknown reason.
edit: same monitor is $390 on monoprice

Light bleeding is pretty much a certainty with these, right?

Where did you see that tx message? I didn't see it and it let me checkout with a TX address.

I also used the 1000 points that they sent me in an email for an additional $10 off.

Yeah. The IPS glow is pretty brutal with all iterations of this panel. The thing is, this is the same panel used in $1000+ displays. So even jumping up to the Dell/Apple IPS monitors won't get you away from the glow. If you want 2560 for under a grand, you just have to deal with the glow right now.

It's totally worth it for my needs (I think it's effing amazing aside from the glow and the stand, just ordered the 105970 [monoprice.com]from Monoprice to replace it) , but if my living in any way depended on avoiding IPS glow for editing or the like, I'd probably look elsewhere.

Would I be able to run this as a second screen on a Macbook pro 13" (non-retina)?
