Thanks, but it seems Seagate backup plus has connection issues as well after google search...like the keyword "Seagate doesn't work"...
Most all of those issues are due to the lousy seagate software... just format it and go.
Also you should ALWAYS disconnect the drive gracefully.
Every drive has its issues at least Seagate sticks with a straight SATA interface and offers SATA adapters like thunderbolt.which can also be used with SSDs.

Both the $10 and $60 rebates are Total Defense offers. Both require the activation code during registration and one activation code can only be attached to a single registration. You probably need to do a phone registration / edit. The other option is to enter the code with dashes and without the other. Registration will take it but I don't know if omitting the dashes will cause a problem later on (someone who has tried please chime in). Anyway it's better to call to help get their attention on these problems.
Additionally both rebates appear to require the original Total Defense UPC. The $60 rebate is the standard Total Defense offer and requires the original Total Defense UPC. The $10 one requires you to select both the drive and software during registration and then requests "Original UPC Barcode Label". Under the standard interpretation of multi-item forms you would need to provide both UPCs. The person who created the rebate probably intended for the original drive UPC to be required, and maybe a copy of the Total Defense UPC, but that's probably not what the rebate center is looking for. Maybe they have internal notes on this offer that say the original Total Defense UPC isn't required, but given Tiger Direct's history of screwing up bundle rebates I would expect a hassle.
I was concerned that they might charge my card separately for the drive and the cable since the cable is sold by a 3rd party vendor, but based on the pending charge and email from Amex, I think they're going to charge it the full order amount ($100.27).
$100.27 - $30 amex deal - $60 rebate - $10 rebate = 27 cents + cost of stamps to submit rebates. Not a bad deal for a 1TB portable drive! Thank you OP!
