Ebay has the refurbished LG Optimus Net 10 Android smartphone for $9.99.

Shipping is free and seller seems to be pretty reputable (top rated)

Probably the most basic, bare bones android phone you can find, but for only $10, how can you go wrong to use as an mp3 player at the gym, media remote, youtube in the bathroom while pooping.

Same phone that net10 was selling for $19.99 a few months ago that was a FP deal

Note: Cant unlock to use with any other provider, its CDMA net 10 locked phone so it wont work on tmoible/at&t or even sprint on Verizon

Specs: 800 Mhz Processor, 3.2" 480x320 Touchscreen, Android 2.3 OS, 3.2 MP Auto-focus Camera, Bluetooth/3G/Wi-Fi, 4GB microSD, etc.

Good idea, how do you think the video quality will be?

Are there any popular apps that you can set use X amount of the SD card and then ove-write the older items it has previously recorded?

No. It just records your position to the app and then uploads it when you get back home on WiFi.

I'm not sure if the new version of the app is compatible with Android 2.3 though since I wasn't able to update it recently. There's a lot of apps with essentially the same functionality though.

I use an Optimus V (virgin mobile) which I think is the same phone as this, but with a little different body. The best thing to do is put a custom ROM from CyanogenMod on there and it will run much better than the stock system.. (which is kind of crappy I think).
Do you know if you can root this to put cyanogenmod on it?

Cheap security camera. At this price, it can be mounted outside and if it dies...oh well.

Based on the description I see this phone is a CDMA, I wonder it can be used as a sprint phone. Anyone has information?

i think you underestimate the convenience of having a phone you can use on the the toilet to check email, watch videos and that you wont care if you accidentally drop it in....
not at all, i have half a dozen android phones in use right now. some of them are setup with google voice and groove ip, so they are essentially free landline phones.

i am just addressing the state of the market. last year, getting a 1ghz phone under $60 was impressive. i didnt think in just another year they would be practically free... that rise for $20 is just insane when you consider those specs were hard to find less then $100 a year ago.

I imagine I could use this as a more full time baby monitor with my foscam - I'd rather not keep my nexus 7 or iphone on all the time. Any reason why it wouldn't work?

I believe you can. If you search for "Optimus Net CM10", it looks like lots of people have done it.

just a quick newbie question. Where should I place the OBD2 bluetooth adapter on the vehicle? Where does the adapter get the power?
