For this to work, you need to be in the 4G coverage of FreedomPop (not too many cities):

* Check Dell; They fare worse.
** AND Dell has paid dearly for its behavior as evidenced by its financial fate. A crucial difference here is that when Dell was a new company customers wanted to do business with it because it was customer oriented providing great product at a great price. That's how it became a big company.
A new company today trying to establish itself in a far more competitive environment can not afford to alienate customers at all.

BE SURE TO DISABLE AUTOMATIC TOP OFF!!! You will otherwise be charged the pay-as-you-go fees after you hit 500mb!!! Go to billing settings, it is tucked away at the end of the preferences section.

http://www.freedompop.com/faq_ans...d=22337616

Additional note: If you do turn off auto top-up, you only get 400MB. You only get the full 500MB free if you let them charge you automatically once you hit 400MB. It's in their FAQ:
http://www.freedompop.com/faq_ans...d=22337616
I still have 100MB of data left for the month, why is my account suspended?

Due to the three hour delay for reporting data usage, we need to trigger the auto top-up functionality 100mb before your data limit. This is done to protect you from going over the 500mb limit. If you have the top-up service enabled, you will be charged $10 and this credit will stay in your FreedomPop account to cover any pay-as-you-go fees. If you have the top-up disabled, our system will suspend your account once it recognizes that you have hit the 100mb threshold. If you would like to take advantage of the full allotment of data, you can enable automatic top-up while having at least $2 of credit in your account. This will prevent your account from getting suspended once our system recognizes that you have hit the data threshold.

correct and only wimax 4G not LTE.

I bought two new ones from newegg for $10 more and they were actually used ones.. I can only imagine what the "refurb" ones are like.

What is going on with WiMax anyway. Now that sprint stop deploying it and switching to LTE?

FreedomPop said they would replace your devices once WiMax is gone. Those devices would support LTE. But that's 2015 and beyond.

how easy is it to cancel their forced 2gb trial and just use the 500mb?

i read the pdf but it wasnt very explicate.

what i understand, after the first month of 2gb, you get 500mb free each month and the unused data rolls over up to 20gb total?

all for no fee after the initial $20?

if so, this is an absolute steal... would love to have in my car just for data on the go without having to tether my phone... too bad i live outside the city though, so getting 4g signal wont be happening.

What does "Limit 3 per person, may buy 2 more as gifts" mean exactly?
