Here's a pretty good AVS thread. [avsforum.com] Many people seem to think it's a great deal at $799 on BF.

Is this a good deal? I mean is this tv any good? i would like to buy one of this for my parents house.. they arent much into sports or movies.. hence 120Hz should be fine for them.. but how is the reputaion of the TV? Is 700 a good deal for this one? Or has it been any lower than this before?

What he said. Target expected to sells tons of this TV at that price back in November.......until people started finding the reviews of its twin the 450, which were lackluster at best. Target was left with pallets of these things. The SD thread on it should be in Deal Discussion or Expired

I've read that this 452 model is back lit whereas the 450 is edge lit.

Had bought it's twin brother from PC Richard. This is one fat TV at about 70 lbs. The DLC (Dynamic Luma Control?) is pain. It resets to ON automatically, every time you turn on TV or change mode.
Not a smart TV, if that matters. Picture quality was good. But I returned it just for the fact that DLC was PITA.

I bought the 450 the other day at Best Buy....open box for $359...as a holiday gift

based on the thickness and lighting I would say this is back lit

I think you can get 5% off or 18 month financing if you use your sears card. Can probably always find a 35 or 50 dollar off coupon also.

If it's the same tv I looked at yesterday, it has no RCA outputs. Just a digital audio out.

Sears has the smart TV version 60LE650U for 999. So for 300 more you can have smart TV with a lot of outputs.

I guess it comes down to what you want. Reviews are the old sharp aquos TVs were better than these entry level units.

I personally have had great luck with the cheap Panasonic P50X models with 1 that's over 10 years old and still kicking.

for $699...seriously

if people had a huge issue with this Tv perhaps they had $2000 expectations?

its no king..for sure...but its at least as good as some low end Vizio that competes for the same market segment

I really never understand why people buy a cheap product and have the expectations that its really going to be anything other than what it is

just good enough....
