Deal Details

Found this awesome deal the other day. This is a great snowboard boot at a really good price, available in men's and women's styles in last year's 2012/2013 model. This boot is far better than the cheap crap you find for <$100. The boot is the most important part of a snowboarding setup, so don't skimp Smilie

The sizing says EU, but I can confirm that it is actually mondo sizing. This error is probably why these are still in stock online. I have provided a conversion chart below. I'd recommend getting them true to your size. I've read reviews that state these don't pack out as much as other snowboard boots do. You could even buy a couple sizes and return the one you don't want to REI. Remember, you want boots to be as small as you can fit comfortably, so shoot lower rather than higher. I am usually a size 12 or 13 in sneakers, so I got a 12 in these which is good. Almost went with a 11.5 actually, which would have worked too.

These are also available in store but stock is limited, so YMMV.

How are these for heel hold? My front foot has a fairly skinny ankle and I get so much heel lift with my current Burtons that it's affecting my riding.

I have some Rome 390 bindings and I don't like them at all. Probably good for park, but I was having a tough time initiating turns with them, they seem really soft. I didn't like the build materials or the design either. I loved my old Union Forces until I sent them into Union to rep[lace some broken bolts and they replaced all my nice straps and magnesium buckles with cheap, crappy plastic and really crappy, non-magnesium buckles. I hated them after that.

Have any recommendation for bindings with the canted footbed? I was looking at the Rome 390 BOSS or the Rome Targa but the main thing is needing the canting.

Do you have funky feet/ankles/legs that require the cant? My right leg is crooked so I could only snowboard, I couldn't ski if I wanted to.

They're for my brother who is 35 and has had a lot of injuries in the past from other sports, says he really needs the cant now. He's 6'5 and boards up in canada where he lives and goes out to BC a lot to the mountains. They had the 390 boss for 129 on black friday and i missed the sale unfortunately.

These boots are pretty good for narrow feet, so I imagine decent. Not quite as much heel lock as you might get from some boa bindings though.

As for decent canted bindings, the Rome mob boss are going for $128 on evo outlet which are a somewhat softer version of the 390s. Pretty decent reviews. These are between the targas and 390s in regards to flex.

EDIT: These are not actually between the 390s and targas. They are less stiff than both. I read that in a review and it is incorrect. Sorry about the mix up!

I used to love these boots back when I used to ride (and when they used to be the F20s). When I first started riding, I had a lot of toe drag because of my size 13 boot. Because the F20's don't have a removable liner, the boot actually smaller than others. This will gives riders the ability to ride normal width boards (vs. wide widths) and smaller bindings. However, as some mentioned, the F20s are a little soft. Freeriders might want to look into F3.0 or F4.0s.

I've had two sets of Rome Boss 390 bindings for my two boards. Love the customization of fit on them.

Salomon make awesome snowboard boots. I wish the F4.0 were on sale also, I need to replace my 5 year old Malamutes that are pretty worn out.
