I know there are already posts in the past on this deal and people saying it's expired and other's saying that it works. I was 1 of those it wasn't working for. But I tried using my mom's Cricket cell phone that's running Android and it worked just fine. Just don't forget to turn off auto renewal. Saw other people suggesting at FatWallet to use a Mobile Device and it worked. My subscription now expires on 2/1/2014.

For those without a mobile device. Someone did mention they used Opera Mobile Emulator and it worked for them. I was going to try that but ended up just using my mom's phone.

This WAS mentioned a number of times, and this is where the confusion is. There are some people this glitch has been working for, some it has not. I will personally advise against it as a former Microsoft employee who saw quite a number of people banned for glitching codes to extend live. For the naysayers: I did this on my own GT at the time, "misterseej" - check the BAN expiration date laugh out loud Banned until the year 2399, can't wait to start using it again laugh out loud laugh out loud laugh out loud

But as far as what you're saying, as OP, you see there are existing threads, but then you say you just want to make a new thread because blah blah blah...

A Duplicate Thread Is A Duplicate Thread. Period. EEK!
Yes. So what. Still doesn't change that other's wouldn't have seen this if it wasn't posted. Doesn't change the fact that it stopped working for other's as well. And there's a way to get it to work. People were constantly making multiple threads about Xbox Ones coming in and out of stock. Yet some how this post is a problem all of a sudden. There's already 2 comments of people saying they got it to work in here. They commented on this post. So it's helping some people already. Would they have gotten it if all of this was only available in an old thread? Doubt it. People post multiple threads on the same item being for sale at the same price but post it as a separate thread just because it's a different retailers. Should we all post in the same 1 thread and update said thread each time the price changes on an item and/or is available through a different retailer. Funny how people just like to complain it seems. Ironically I've posted a thread on an item being for sale and got thumbs down. Was a slew of like 5 different games. Yet other's posted the same deal just only mentioned 1 of the games. And yet those threads where thumbed up. It's kinda funny in that I've also seen a thread posted on something I saw days before it was posted didn't think about posting it because I didn't want to get thumbs down. Someone else posted it days later and its gotten more thumbs up than any thread I've posted. All for a Rocketfish Cat5 50 foot cable for $4.99. Seems like too many complainers on this site.

How do you turn off auto-renew?

Don't seem to see it anywhere - I subscribed with my Paypal account.
Go into "my accounts, subscriptions, cancel automatic payments".

Edit: BTW, this worked fine for me using firefox on my desktop. Tried it on my galaxy tab 3 8.0 and it wouldn't even go anywhere. I was using the default browser on that though.

Is there any reason why this gave me two months of live? It expires on the 1st of February. I had no live previously.

seems like you need to stop playing games and get back to education. Big Grin

Does your subscription have to be expired for this to work? Mine expires in February and I tried using the Opera app as well as Firefox on my desktop and neither would work for me.

Yeah I'll be getting it too. Just got Shoot Many Robots for free and picked up Eternal Sonata for $3.74. My main reasoning for trying to get Gold myself was for the discounted Eternal Sonata. The Games with Gold stuff was just bonuses for me. I'll be getting Sleeping Dogs and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light when they come up for free. As well as what ever releases come February 1, 2014.

yes, this M$ freebie won't extend an active paid/pre-pay subscription. You can, however, do this the day you expire though and every month after that as others have done.

As many have indicated this is a thing that has been 'active' for some time now, so it 'may' still be there in a month or 12, who knows...

aha - there is my issue although my son's sub runs out tomorrow so I may try this again.

The $35 annual renewals have been few and far between lately.
