I know there are already posts in the past on this deal and people saying it's expired and other's saying that it works. I was 1 of those it wasn't working for. But I tried using my mom's Cricket cell phone that's running Android and it worked just fine. Just don't forget to turn off auto renewal. Saw other people suggesting at FatWallet to use a Mobile Device and it worked. My subscription now expires on 2/1/2014.

For those without a mobile device. Someone did mention they used Opera Mobile Emulator and it worked for them. I was going to try that but ended up just using my mom's phone.

How do you turn off auto-renew?

Don't seem to see it anywhere - I subscribed with my Paypal account.
There is a way you can completely remove your payment option if that's what you prefer:

1. Go to My Account at Xbox.com. Sign in with your Microsoft account if necessary.
2. Select Payment & Billing, and then select Manage Payment Options.
3. Next to the payment option you want to delete, select Remove.
4. Click Yes to confirm the removal.

This WAS mentioned a number of times, and this is where the confusion is. There are some people this glitch has been working for, some it has not. I will personally advise against it as a former Microsoft employee who saw quite a number of people banned for glitching codes to extend live. For the naysayers: I did this on my own GT at the time, "misterseej" - check the BAN expiration date laugh out loud Banned until the year 2399, can't wait to start using it again laugh out loud laugh out loud laugh out loud

But as far as what you're saying, as OP, you see there are existing threads, but then you say you just want to make a new thread because blah blah blah...

A Duplicate Thread Is A Duplicate Thread. Period. EEK!
Not going to lie, this post stopped me in my tracks... for $35/yr why risk this for a free month?

people already confirmed this on previous threads.

Didn't see anyone even mention this in previous threads. I mentioned it in the Games with Gold for January thread though. In fact I had 1 person ask if there was a link that the same very thread. Only posting this so those that weren't able to get it to work will now be informed that there's away to get it to work. Since not everyone keeps up with old threads. And those old threads are usually filled with people saying it don't work or even the threads themselves being marked as expired.

Think this is a quasi-repost of a deal that never went away.

Thanks! This wasn't working for me from a desktop. It didn't work with FireFox on my cell either, but it did work with my regular browser. I refuse to pay for Live anymore, but I'll gladly take the free games. Smilie

the people who were banned are using multiple of this offer concurrently instead of one month. they were hacking the system. We're simply using the link. I only need this one month for the kid on break anything extra simply gravy-although I've been using for almost a year now.

Maybe this is a different situation, but I was able to remove my credit card information right after singing up for a free month.
