Most Costco B&M selling for $69.99. Same as Model S5100 from BestBuy and others, except this one has HDMI. These are 2013 models, the S590/S390 are 2012 models. The Costco in Houston had couple dozen in stock.

Got 2 today as well.. from Southlake, TX location... was $50 off, not $40 like originally advertised... so $119.99-$50=$69.99+tax.

It's $119.99 less a $50 "manufacturer's rebate" so with 8.7% tax in Bellingham, WA I paid $80.42 after tax: the tax was $4.35 more than expected; the the real cost before tax was $74.34.

Did anyone else have trouble trying to use an iPhone app for it? I was trying to use Media Remote, which it sounds like may be defunct (even though all of their documentation refers you to that app), but for the 5 seconds I poked around with the TV Sidebar app, I don't think it was working any better. I just hope I get to go home at some point tonight so I can see if that app solves my problem.

Anyhoo, when I tried to go to the Internet / Network Setup Menu, it didn't give me any option to register a new mobile device :-/

If it works anything like my Yamaha network receiver, both devices need to be connected to the same network. Be sure that your phone is connected to the same WiFi network as the blu ray player and the app would likely find the device and connect automatically.

The issue was related to me trying to use the old app, with the TV Sidebar, it linked up without issue. Would be nice if Sony would update their documentation; I only found this by running across an answer in their help forum explaining that the Media Remote was replaced in 2013 for TV Sidebar for new products.

I like this and have used it for months now. My only complaint is how long it can take to access internet content. A couple times it was blazing fast but on the whole it is painfully slow to access Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon video - each have a 3 step process and sometimes it takes too long IMO. I have the unit in clear communication with the router and within 15 feet. It almost always connects (eventually) and displays 15mbps connection speed. Once connected app speed is less of a problem but still may be slow.
Also, the Bravia sync works well and is why I bought this. As far as playback from USB (two slots, front and back) its the best I have used - has played MKV, MP4, 95% of what I have thrown at it.

I was thinking of getting a Roku but for what I want to stream this does it and I have a Blu ray and DVD player also. For $70 and a HDMI cable not a bad deal.

Just to confirm, they are $50 off from $119 in store in the south Miami Costco, and they have a pallet of them. It says limit 3 but I bought 6, though I did ring them up separate just in case.

It works great. I just set it up and linked it with amazon, Netflix and vudu. All work great with no streaming issues and apps worked fast enough for me with vudu seeming the fastest. Netflix had the new update with the regular or the kids login and the new interface.

Now wondering if I should pick up another and off load my blu ray playing and streaming from my PS3 but that's really not needed I would think.

This was tested with a wired connection with Uverse 24mbps fyi.

What are you going to do with 6 Blu-ray players?

Simple, I have a vacation rental so one will go in each room. The others will be given away as gifts.

I received one of these from my wife for my birthday - first Blu-Ray player ever and so far I'm happy. Of course, the upgrade fever never ends, so now I want to get a bigger TV.

You need a 3D TV/Monitor to take advantage of that(and also 3D BR movie).
