Hi guys,

TigerDirect has a new $60 Total Defense bundle rebate for January. This is offer TD9-10119 [highspeedbackbone.net].

Limit 1 per household. You can only do one of these options so choose carefully. Something better could show up later in the month or everything could go away tomorrow (not a prediction or hint).

Total Defense rebate is valid 1/1/2014 to 1/31/2014 (EST). Some of the deals involve other rebates; please check their expiration date and limits before ordering.

Please see the wiki for the answers to some common questions and important rebate information.

Note: The Total Defense rebate requires that the software must be activated prior to rebate redemption. Activation will require a valid credit card however your subscription may be cancelled at anytime. A one-year subscription is included so this will not cost extra if you cancel the automatic renewal service. Please see the wiki for additional details.

Additional Rebate: Tiger Direct has a rebate for $10 back on $50 orders valid 1/17 to 1/24. See this thread for details. For some potential FAR fillers see this thread.

Added by Woz2000: Buried in the Terms "Offer only valid in Canada", may be mistake, but I'll pass.
The Canada thing should not be an issue. Someone screwed up and used the Canadian terms instead of the US ones. The rebate is set up as a US rebate, takes only US addresses, is payable in USD, and is valid only at the US website.

FAQ:
  • Q: I've submitted a Total Defense rebate before. Am I eligible for this deal?
A: Yes, as long as you have not submitted offer TD9-10119 before. This is offer is new for January 2014, so you are safe as long as you haven't purchased Total Defense at TigerDirect during January 2014.
  • Q: How do I get econo shipping? It is no longer available when I go to check out.
A: If you address uses the second line, combine that information with the first line and make sure the second address line is blank.
  • Q: I have purchased Total Defense in the past. Do I need to create a new Total Defense account?
A: In most cases you can add a new subscription to your existing account. Simply use the same email address and password when activating online. At the moment we are recommending putting no more than 4 subscriptions on an account. If you prefer you can create a new account each time.
  • Q: Do I need to install the software?
A: No, online activation as described below is sufficient.

Instructions to Avoid Common Mistakes for the $60 Rebate:
Activation is required prior to rebate redemption. This will require a valid credit card. A one-year subscription is included so this will not cost extra if you cancel the automatic renewal service.
  1. After receipt, activate online [totaldefense.com] or by installing. You card will not be charged but there will be a 30-day $1 authorization. During this process you will sign up for their automatic renewal service.
  2. Use the link on your account page to "Cancel Automatic Renewal Service" [totaldefense.com]. Doing this will not impact your rebate. You may receive an error if you try to cancel immediately after activation; try again in 10 minutes. Sometimes it may take up to a couple days for the error to clear up. Several users have had issues when trying to cancel with Internet Explorer. If the "Processing Request" message hangs for more than a few seconds, try another browser such as FireFox.
  3. Submit rebate
    • Double check your activation code when filling out the registration form. They do not validate the code at this point and a typo may cause your rebate to be denied.
    • As requested, submit your invoice, not the packing slip, order confirmation, or order status page. Your invoice will be available the morning after shipment by following the view invoice link in your order history. If you paid via Google Wallet / V.me you should request an emailed invoice from TD [tigerdirect.com].
    • Avoid taping over the print on the Total Defense UPC. Acrylic tape can cause thermal labels like the Total Defense UPC to fade. Hot melt tapes such as Scotch brand packing tapes (except "moving & storage") do not cause this problem.
    • Not needed for these offers, but not deleting as this wiki gets copied around: "Proof of purchase of Qualifying Bundle purchase" is your invoice showing both items.
  4. Track your rebate:
    • You can use the "Check Rebate Status" link in the email titled "Rebate Registration Confirmation".
    • You can also enter your information for the $60 rebate at totaldefense.4myrebate.com [4myrebate.com], but not at www.4myrebate.com.
    • Your documentation should be received within a few weeks. If not you need to follow up ASAP.
  5. Receive rebate
  6. Cancel Automatic Renewal Service if not already done.
  7. One year from activation: subscription automatically expires without additional charges.

UPC requirements:
  • $60 Total Defense bundle rebate (TD9-10119 [highspeedbackbone.net]): Total Defense UPC (817839011691) only
  • $10 off $50 (TD-12904 [highspeedbackbone.net]): No UPCs required
  • In general, the other rebates listed in the OP should require the UPC from the bundled item (and not the Total Defense UPC)

Anecdotal activation story: I just filed the rebate on Jan 6/14 for the Dec. $60 rebate. This time I activated with an Amex card that expires in 10/14 and it left out the auto-renewal. When logging into the account afterward it already had it marked as "cancelled" expiring Jan 2015. I assume it realized it cannot renew then with the card provided. Sweet. Might work for others as well.
^Sometimes auto-renew just takes a while to show up or never comes. I have activated many subscriptions with cards expiring in less than a year but still had auto-renew.

What was the deal with some company going into bankruptcy? Are these rebates still going to be reliable?

I submitted the rebate for previous December TD deal on 12/20, but the rebate website still isn't showing any results when I enter the tracking number. Is this normal? It's been 3 weeks!

Your tracking number doesn't work or your documents haven't been received yet?

Is this the correct page to check rebate status?
https://linksys.4myrebate.com/Claim/TrackaRebate

I entered my rebate info and it says "No Claim Found Matching Search Criteria!"
How do you know whether the documents have been received or not vs tracking # not working? I am new to TD..

Awesome Post. If you can do something like this every month that would be cool. Now I am going to guess this list can be changing even during the same month or is it pretty much static?

Most of it will probably stay the same but I'll try to keep it up to date.

Awesome, thanks OP! This is my first time doing the TD rebates but I've been eyeing them for a while now. Has everyone had good luck getting rebates in herbs last couple months? In the December thread people were stating to get a little worried.

Thanks again!

is it safe to wait for the 20/100 rebate or were those once, twice a year deals? last month, there was the 40mm td+eastwear bag, but it was only available for a few days before being sold out. will wait for the last minute as most of the mm items aren't that useful (free is free, but of course)

I just did $60 TD rebate last month (December-2013) and still waiting for rebate card (rebate submission is approved though). Am I again eligible for this?

The list can change notably over the month. Rebates are added/removed, prices change, and other offers come and go.
