If you live in a state without income tax - http://www.amazon.com/TurboTax-De...PDKIKX0DER
There are many websites that you can link through to get to TurboTax and pay a much smaller fee. Last year I linked through BofA. There are several other sites such as Fidelity, Vanguard, etc. that can be accessed by anyone. I paid $19.99 to e-file a Federal return using TurboTax Deluxe. They imported all my information over to my state return (CA) for free. You can then paper file for free OR e-file. The fee to e-file for CA is $36.99. That cannot be avoided unless you go through another tax software.
$19.99 < $39.99
Alive again at 5:25 PM CST 1.2.14
The PC/Mac version is still $39.99 even though it shows higher on the product page ...you have to go through checkout to see the discount.
9) TurboTax Refund Bonus Program:

maximum $10,000 per customer). "I interpret this to be $2000 per return for 5 e-files. UnixAdmin" Offer available only for TurboTax Online or CD/download
